Sentinel : Material Characteristics
In recent years there has been an understandable trend towards
the replacement of compressed asbestos fibre (CAF) as the
standard gasket material for a wide range of applications,
fuelled by ever increasing environmental pressures.
Sentinel® Jointing has proved itself in service for over
10 years as a reliable replacement for CAF in many duries
up to 350°C, this representing a high proportion of services
formerly satisfied by CAF joints.
Whilst material developments continue to expand the performance
envelope of synthetic fibre jointings, Sentinel continues
to offer overall performance characheriestics which satisfy
a high proportion of flange sealing duties.
The combination of tough and durable aramid fibres with high
quality nitrile rubber results in a versatile, high performance
non-asbestos sealing product.
