Nomex
Nomex® aramide paper type 410 is a calandered electro-insulation
paper of class H (180 degrees Celsius) .It is constructed
of a two-components polyamide polymere. Type 410 has a good
mechanical strength, flexibility and resilience and is an
ideal insulating materials for use at high temperatures.
Nomex® type 410 has a high dielectric strength even without
impregnation. Because of its
Polymere structure Nomex® type 410 is also suitable for
low temperatures (up to 190 degrees Celsius). Nomex® is
neglectably attacked by common solvents and has very good
resistance to acids and alkalines . It is compatible with
all kinds of resins, varnishes and adhesives as well as transformer
liquids, oils and freons. Nomex® has good rupturing strength
and abrasion resistance. Temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius
do only neglectably or not at all influence the electrical
or mechanical properties . Also at considerately higher temperatures
this material maintain good values. Nomex® paper is difficult
to ignite and UL approved for temperatures up to 220 degrees
Celsius.
Nomex® type 410 is used for almost all known applications
where web shaped electric insulation is required. The use
in dry transformers ,yokes, liquid transfomers, insulators,
alternating and direct current motor and big size generators
is possible.
The material is also ideal for use as slot liner.
