ABOUT ERLA
Erla has been sewing for over 40 years and began pursuing the art of smocking and related needlarts in 1979. Her ardor for gardening often inspires her choice of fabric and floral design, lending a signature to her unique pieces. She has won numerous prizes and awards at fairs and competions.
As a founding member of the Grand Smocker Guild she has a passion for sharing her skills. She teaches classes and workshops both at the Guild and throughout the area. In 1998 she organized "Dorcas Camp", a retreat for Daughters, Moms, and Mentors. This event is held each August at the OCAI campground just north of Orangeville and is open to anyone interested in crafts and needleworks.
