Tom Clancy. A name we have all heard. Sometimes loved, sometimes loathed, nevertheless he still writes bestsellers with the effortlessness of a swan in flight. But how does he do it?
Here at the Eristic Republic, we argue something different. We say there is no Clancy. That's right, those pictures in the back of those big paperback thrillers are faked. The name on the front is forged.
Who then, you might ask, is the one who writes these novels? Well might you ask, but your question is the wrong one. It would be better to say rather: WHAT writes these novels.
To answer this question, one must analyze this so-called author's works. Within, we find the following: Teams of elite soldiers, teams of elite terrorists, explosions, world threats, government subterfuge and a lone pencil-pusher who saves the free world. Also, at least once in each book (Usually many more times)is the utilization of the word SATCHEL.
Our theory is that an Artificial Intelligence (AI) program we will call Satchelbot is the true "author". We believe that Satchelbot is responsible for linking together words and concepts in literary format in order to produce these works, which in turn fund further research into more advanced AI.
Proof? We honestly have very little apart from the word satchel and the fact that he uses the same metaphors and subject matter each time. But rest assured. We're professionals. Should you fear buying the next Clancy? My eschatology professor says no. I say no. So why worry? After all, we know that Satchelbot has a soft spot for freedom, justice and democracy. Hey, I'd even vote for him. If I was American.
