CHANTECLER
La seule race de poules canadienne officielle, présentement reconnue comme assez rare. Sa sélection a été effectuée dans le but d'obtenir une crête et des caroncules réduits afin d'éviter les risques de gel durant l'hiver. Sa maturation et son emplumage sont lents. Le coq possède une queue très longue et est magnifique à observer en liberté, et la poule pond des oeufs bruns. Les couleurs d'origine sont le blanc (Québec) ou la couleur perdrix (Manitoba). CHANTICLEER
The only official Canadian breed, actually considered as a rare species. Its selection was made in order to obtain a hen with comb and wattle reduced, so that it is not affected by frost during wintertime. This breed has slow maturing and feathering; the rooster has a long curved tail and is magnificent to look at when at free range, and the hen lays brown eggs.
