I am one of seven puppies. In December 1999, most of the family got together for a reunion at Sue and Bill's house in Summerville. Follow the link below to see all the fun. I'm the prettiest one!

At one point in time, I used to go to dog shows and I finished my championship. Then I retired which was fine with me. Since I moved in with my new mom, I have taken up lure coursing. I got my Junior Courser (JC) title (that means I can chase plastic being pulled on a wire for 800 yards) at the 1999 Saluki Nationals in Lexington, KY. At 6 1/2 I was the oldest dog running the JC test. I wasn't as fast as a lot of the younger ones, but I had fun!
In August of 1999, I suffered a major tragedy when I slipped in the hallway and broke my right front leg. My mom took me to Upstate Veterinary Services where the really nice Dr. Allen did surgery on my leg. Now I have a steel plate in my leg and no one can even tell I was hurt. My favorite thing in the world is food. I love to eat. I spend much of my day trying to find food in our apartment. I can turn over the garbage can really well. The humans stopped putting food garbage in it. I used to raid the treat jar my mom had set out, but then she moved it to the top of the refridgerator after the last time I ate an entire bag of treats in less than 2 hours.

I turned 8 in February and have now returned to showing as a veteran. Since my return to the ring in 2000, I have three veteran best of breeds (out of three times in the ring) and two veteran Group 2. We will not discuss the National Specialty. However, my proudest accomplishment has been tripping my mom in the ring. I did quite a good job. Everyone looked so concerned. I was just having some fun. Some people are so uptight. Bally tries to show too, but he is dumb and can't show. Look for me, I am the real superstar in the family!
I have any number of endearing habits, since I am just so cute. I thought I would share several of my favorite things to do with you to demonstrate how intelligant I am. One thing I am really good at doing is looking for food. Trust me, if there is food to be found, I can find it. We salukis can stretch up to be quite tall when we stand on our hind legs. Our long front legs only increase our reach. Don't worry, I can reach the food! I really enjoy emptying out the trash can and spreading the contents around the kitchen and living room in search of food. Mom just picks it all up when she comes home, so obviously she doesn't mind me doing this. I don't find food much there any more. Sometimes I still get lucky and find stuff like a loaf of bread that hasn't been placed high enough or in a cabinet.

Another thing that I am good at doing is asking to go out. Some dogs will just go and stand at the door. Some dogs might bark to ask to go out. My routine is much more elaborate than that. First, I go to the door and stare. Then I dance back and forth. Then I hit the door with my foot. BAM!! BAM!! That usually really gets them running. Ha, I can knock at the door! That is my favorite trick and works really well in the middle of the night. Try it some time yourself.
The original Eris was a VERY BAD GIRL!!! Eris is the goddess of Dischord and boy can she cause some trouble. Compared to her I am a cupcake. Read All About It
