Snow days past

I don't get it. Snow days used to be a thing that everybody wants to have. To be stuck indoors where its warm with  a hot cup of chocolate. Today was one of those days where you don't want to go outside because of the blizzard. Today I woke up to do what just about any non-browner student would do on a day like this, look out the window and hope there was snow. Of course there was plenty of snow, infarct, at the moment I was positive it was going to be a snow day.

So I got up turned on the radio and ate a bowl of porige (If I could I would spell it right.) I was plesently reminded that the radio station I listen to was on the road to become bankrupt, since that newer, better and more popular radio station opened up. So they tried to stall the bus and school cancellations with a few songs, but they couldn't steal lit forever.

Much to my dismay, after roughly twenty minutes of waiting, I found out that my school wasn't closed and the bus lines are still running. So I angerly walk to my room, and catch a snippent of my school  on the radio. They cancelled on bus line out of three heading to my school. Just one, and it wasn't the busline that I, or half of the population of the school was on for the matter.

Fast forward an hour and you find me on my bus, typing up this page, while my bus driver attempts to recover from the slushy fishtail's he doing. I think the fishtales are because of the fact that the snow plows probabbly got a snow day.

Thanks to the principal at our sschool,  who happens to be a asshole, wants us all to risk it and come to school. Even my bus dirver ssays this denfinitly not a day for school.

Now is it just me or is that principal a real ass? There is about a 40 foot view distance, a soft, snowcovered roads, and a lineup of about fifety cars ahead of my bus, making on fishtail, a huge potential for a hellish crash. Both lanes on the road are packed, which is rare for a small town rural area.

I'm thinking a few of my school teachers arn't going to make it in today, because they live in london. So yay, my school teachers get a day off, but the kids who go to the school don't.

At Least I'm not walking...

you know your program sucks when...

Firefox, thundebird,Nvu, Gmax,Linux, Gimp, and Sunbird. Free programs are the new wave. Made by indviduals who stand no gain other than to infect the net with they're free goodness.

On the opposite ends of the spectrum, are the 300 dollar program that are as good, or worse than they're free counterparts. 3ds Max, Fireworks, Flash MX,Windows,Photoshops, and Internet Explorer.

Whats the point in buying the expensive programs? Support.Support. Support. For example, 3ds max 8. Very little backwards compatiblity, and no forawrds compatiblity. If you make models  in 3ds max 8, won't work in any version lower.

Meanwhile, Gmax, is exactly the same as 3ds Max in layout, and most of the basic abilities. The only difference is the keyboard shortcuts, even them, there just a different key to do the same thing.

And then there's  Internet Explorer 7, which pretty much offends me. Internet Explorer "Borrowed" 90% of the layout from firefox. Tabbed browsing is performed with one difference, the "new tab" is beside tabs.  So, whats with IE7 and its complete ripoff of Firefox? Its because microsoft thought that if people didn't pay for firefox when they bought, lets make them pay for IE7, and make it look like and work like firefox.

Open source programs  are cleaning up the overpriced programs out there, in the program warzone. The free, open-source projects are better, faster and more efficent then the Closed source, popular programs. Even if the open source projects have flaws, they're fixed within hours of the problem, and large userbases are keep the program hot and running well.
