A dynamic, creative professional with a proven record of building revenues in both philanthropic and corporate environments. Ten years past experience in business marketing and management, and most recently, over twelve years of successful fund development for not-for-profit organizations.

EXPERIENCE:

1999 to Present:   Magnificat Center - Founded a 501(c)(3) not for profit agency to provide care and shelter for children at risk for abuse and neglect.  After lengthy negotiation and relationship building with neighborhood groups and government officials, opened a safe house for children in South St. Louis called NaNa's House in February, 2002.  Recruited board members, volunteers and staff.  Built a donor base of individuals, churches and businesses, and obtained funding from Daughters of Charity, Home Builders Association, Sisters of Mercy, Ameren, McBride Foundation, St. Louis Philanthropic Organization, Ronald McDonald House Charities, St. Louis 2004, Boeing and others.  Continue to volunteer and serve as President of the Board of Directors.

2004 to Present:  Community Health-In-Partnership Services (CHIPS).  Development Manager responsible for creating a fund raising department and developing a plan to raise $4 million for a new healthcare facility.  Duties include writing grants, newsletters, annual appeals, and coordinating events to generate operating revenues as well as researching prospective major donors, creating promotional materials and planning and implementing a capital campaign.

1999 to 2002:   Our Lady's Inn, St. Louis, MO - Development Director for established not-for-profit agency serving homeless women and children.  Consistently exceeded fundraising goals set by Board.   Developed and nurtured relationships with individual and corporate donors.  Researched and wrote grant proposals, designed and published newsletters, annual appeals, planned giving appeals and news releases and promotional materials. 

- Recruited, trained and supervised volunteers.
- Directed the planning and implementation of three major fund raising events each year.
- Pursued Board support for a $2 million capital campaign, evaluated prospective campaign consultants and worked with consultants and board members to implement campaign.
- Developed proposals for grants that were funded by the Deaconess Foundation, Missouri Housing Trust Fund, Boeing Employees Charitable Trust, Daughters of Charity, Incarnate Word Foundation, St.  Louis Philanthropic Organization, Emerson Electric, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Lutheran Charities, Sisters of Mercy Health Systems, Sisters of St. Joseph, Variety Club and others.
- Resigned to devote fulltime to getting NaNa's House up and running.

November, 1993 to February, 1999:   Walk in the Light Ministries, Washington, MO.  Executive Director of U.S. office of international not-for-profit organization building orphanages in Romania.  Coordinated fundraising efforts in the U.S., developed and maintained relationships with donors and supporting churches. Recruited short-term volunteers and long-term missionaries. Made extensive travel arrangements for individuals and groups and made periodic visits to Romania to inspect the orphanages. Wrote the organization's first grant and received funding from Compassion Canada.  Designed and produced newsletters, promotional materials and donor and board communications.  Prepared budgets, processed donations and prepared financial reports for the board.  Initiated a bi-annual conference and fundraising dinner that is ongoing. Coordinated shipments of building materials and humanitarian aid overseas.  Maintained communication with offices in Romania, Switzerland, and Japan.

EDUCATION:

Memphis State University and Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Sociology.
