I have lots of things that interest me... too many to try and list here. So I'll keep it simply and stick to my favorite favorites. :-)

I love nature! (What a major understatement!) My favorite place to be is to be out in the woods or up a tree. I especially love playing in creeks! :-) No matter where I am, my heart will always be out on the family farm, or the state parks down south Missouri, or on a float trip, or at Aunt Hazel and Kenny's lake, or......

I also love reading and writing... hence the English major! My favorite authors are the Bronte sisters, Shakespeare and J.R.R. Tolkien. My favorite books are Jane Eyre, Tale of Two Cities and the entire collection by Tolkien - HORRAY for LORD OF THE RINGS!! Oh, and I love Auel's "Clan of the Cave Bear" series!!

My Personality:

On a good day, I think that you could classify me as being a very odd duck. =) Just ask Melinda or Aaron. (Poor things, they have to put up with me! hahaha) Hmm... it's not very easy to describe my personality because there are many different facets to it. Or, like a poem I once wrote, I am a spectrum of contradictions. For the most part, I'm a zany, energetic and mischievious goofball. And I most certainly can't be adequately put into words on here!

Ideas, Beliefs, Etc. That Are Important To Me:

Therefore it should come as no surprise that family is one of the most important concepts in my life. I am one of the diminishing few who still believe in strong family bonds. I'm definitly not a career girl (how else could I decide to be a high school teacher? lol); I will care more about my husband and children than any 9-5 job. I'm very family/friends-oriented. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the stay home wife with a duster and white apron - I hate Martha Steward and I love take-out! :-)

My main goal in life is for me and my loved ones to by happy. Unlike modern society, this does not mean being rich or having a well-to-do job. (This of course does not mean that I want to be poor and jobless, lol. I only ask that I do not have to worry and stress over how I'm going to pay the bills each month, etc.)

On a lighter note, I'm not as rigid and crusty as I may appear on here! lol I love laughing and being goofy... I'm usually singing a little song and smiling. (It's like I have 8th notes running in my veins) I also love to tease and joke around, although I tend to be sarcastic! In a good way!
