A fully extended forward reach position with the racquet leg bent, the non-racquet leg straight out behind and the chest low to the racquet leg knee resulting in a defensive lift return of the shuttle.

Attacking Lunge

A fully extended forward leap used to intercept the shuttle and kill it while it is above net height and the player is still in the air.

The Kill

Any shot that puts the shuttle on the floor and ends the rally

Around-The-Head:

An offensive drive return of the shuttle on the backhand side whereby the player brings the racquet around behind the head in a circular path, pronates the wrist to square the racquet head and contacts the shuttle above the non-racquet shoulders.

Chasse

A foot movement whereby the racquet foot steps forward and the non-racquet foot slides up to the heel - similar to a sword fighter (fencer)

Stretch-Reflex
