This Time With Feeling

An insistent beeping temporarily drew Bekas attention away from her piloting.
Uh, Dylan, would you mind getting that? Were going to be docking pretty soon.
Sure. Dylan pressed a button on the console he sat at and Andromedas voice came over the Marus speakers.
   Dylan, Harpers sick.
   Major or minor?
   Major.
Of course! Beka exclaimed sarcastically, concern softening the remark. He can never catch anything minor, can he?
Beka, if we dont figure out what is wrong with him soon hes going to die.
Dylan watched as Bekas head shot up. He knew that Harper was like a little brother to her, closer to her than her actual little brother. Though she was keeping her face neutral, he knew what kind of thoughts might be going through her head.
Does Trance have any idea what it is? Dylan asked when Beka remained silent.
She doesnt have any idea. At first, she thought it might be a virus that he picked up on the Than colony we just left. But the virus that was going around when we were there shows symptoms that are entirely different from what Harper has and Trance cant actually identify any viral cells in Harpers blood.
Dylan said nothing, considering the information Andromeda had just given him. Meanwhile, Beka finally said something. Andromeda, you better open up the docking bay doors. Were coming in for a landing.
The short remainder of the trip was silent as Beka brought the Maru in and landed it rather roughly. Almost before the gravity and atmosphere were restored, she had opened the Marus hatch and started running for the infirmary. Dylan shut down the Marus systems and then hurried after his first officer.
