| My interpretation: In these lyrics they are expressing a feeling of great animosity coupled with helplessness, the individual has come to the realization that his beliefs as well as his whole identity and structure of being has become under attack and crucified in a society whose attributes are of such decadent nature. He is enraged to find that in this system he must turn away from his beliefs and tolerate this nature as he states he must " sing your praise and glory", refering to society in general. He then finds himself turning hostile and dismal, ironicaly quite the opposite of his disired traits, trying to understand peoples ignorance and their selfish nature. |
