Not Just a Field
Not just a field.
Not just a vast expanse
Of thick luscious grass
And white chalk lines.
Not just a field.
Not just another
Athletic complex
With nets at either end.
So what is it?
A battlefield where
Hopes and dreams are made
Or broken.
A symbol of countless
Triumphs and losses.
A training ground for
Athletes with one goal in mind.
To be the best of the best.
A place to test your
Strengths
Skills
Drive
Determination
In rain or shine
How good are you really?
An arena where spectators can
Make you a star
Or make you a failure.
A domain where sweat and blood
Are badges to wear proudly.
A realm where the strong and powerful
Are not afraid to cry.
Not just a field.
A soccer field.
