Curriculum

Effective for the 2006-07 school year John F. Kennedy teachers will no longer be using letter grades to assess student performance. This change is necessary to comply with district policy.

Teachers will instead, determine student progress based on how effectively they meet the California Content Standards for each subject area. I encourage all parents and guardians to read carefully all district and school information regarding this change. I also encourage you to visit the link provided on this website to familiarize yourself with those standards.

Please visit me on Back to School night. There I will be discussing in further detail my expectations regarding class work and homework. There will also be information about important upcoming events like Outdoor Education. Come join in this informative celebration of the beginning of the school year!

Field trips

Field trips are lots of fun and an important part of learning.

Our first fieldtrip of the 2006-07 school year will be to Serra Bowl in Daly City. We'll leave school on November 21st at 12pm and return to school at 2:45pm. Parent/guardian volunteers help make fieldtrips safe by ensuring adequate supervision. If you're able to join us, please contact me as soon as possible. Your participation is greatly appreciated :-)

Please check this website throughout the school year for information regarding field trip destinations, times and dates.
