My spiritual beliefs mimic some Native American, some Asian, some Pagan, and some are my own. I believe that there is a very powerful deity, but She is female, a Goddess. I don't call Her by any Official name, just The Mother. That is what She is to all of us--a Mother. And we are all Her children, loved sincerely and without falsehoods or empty promises. She tells us that She wants us to live a happy, good life. She is not omniscient, nor omnipotent.
Okay, long rant coming. Go to the bathroom, grab a snack and something to eat. This'll be a while.
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then...She came into being. For a time, She was content to simply exist, experimenting with Her limitless powers. But then, She grew sad. She was alone in the infinite nothingness. So, She used Her powers, and created. It isn't exactly known what She created first, in the cosmological sense. Eventually however, She created the universe. She gave birth to it, actually. And from the afterbirth She created the life that abounds in the universe.
