Allen Groh
Allen was the Director of International Trade & Regulatory Compliance Group for Ericsson Inc. based out of Lynchburg Virginia.
With many of his responsibilities, he also co-ordinated the Ericsson North American Product Approvals meetings. He kept everyone up to date with current and pending new regulations from the FCC, etc., thus protecting Ericssons interests in new product designs. He was the glue that kept it all together.
He was a warm kind hearted man, who always had an interesting story to tell, and kept your attention with the latest tech news and inside stories.
The last time I saw him was here in Santa Barbara for the Ericsson Product Approvals meeting, Nov 14 2001. I think that was the best time we ever had together as a group, shared many laughs, and became much closer as friends and not just as business associates. On this occasion, Allen invited us to join him at his longtime friend's beautiful ranch (Stan and Connie) in Montecito. That evening we all piled into my car and drove up to Montecito. We were treated to wonderful home, hospitality and a spectacular view of the sun setting into the pacific ocean. The next night, Allen again shared another unforgettable evening on Stan & Connie's yacht, a boat cruise up and down the breathtaking shoreline views of Santa Barbara. It was a great time and my last memories of Allen.
