LIVE AT THE IRVING PLAZA

Recorded Live April 24, 1997 at The Irving Plaza, New York, NY

Source: Soundboard

Setlist:

Disc One: Tear Stained Eye, True to Life, Last Minute Shakedown, Slate, Creosote, Out of the Picture, Left a Slide, Back to your world, Catching On, Ten Second News

Disc Two: Picking up the Signal, Cemetery Savior, Loose Strings, Caryatid Easy, Route, Drown, No More Parades, Windfall, Been Set Free, Almost There, Chickamunga, Fifth Dimension (with Roger McGuinn)

Note:  This set sports great sound, but the performance is sadly lacking.  It's like they're playing with the lights on too bright.  I'd recommend the July show below, that while audience and not complete, is a stronger show.

INTROVERTIVE GENIUS

Recorded Live July 28, 1997 at the Crystal Ballroom, Portland OR

Source: Audience

Back in Your World / Last Minute Shakedown / Creosote / Out of the Picture / Tear Stained Eye / Left a Slide / Ten Second News / Catching On / Live Free or Die / Picking Up the Signal / Cemetery Saviour / Caryatid Easy /
Route / Drown / No More Parades

Note:  I can't recommend this one highly enough. I saw them three nights before this show, the first of two nights at the Fillmore, SF, and it was beautiful. I don't believe this is a complete show, I remember them playing Postcard, Chickamunga, Windfall, and Loose String.  Also, they opened up with Left a Slide.  It's a shame the missing tunes aren't here, those three certainly left an impression.  If I recall correctly they played everything from Trace except for Mystifies Me, and everything from Straightaways except for Way Down Watson.

Loose String in particularly was tight, the band in general was tight that night and is again this night up in Portland.  The setlist was confusing for Heyward (stage left, having to exit stage right), with him coming and going almost with every song.  At one point, he was moving a bit slow and D. Boquist gave him a little shove to help him off.  The guys seemed real, like they'd just walked in off the street to play.  You could see the bulge of Jay's wallet in his back pocket, not quite the same as the guys two decades earlier who'd stuff another bulge in their pants...
