::biography::
-I am 31 years old.
-I live in Michigan, in a city called Warren. I have lived here my entire life.
-I am a writer & poet. I have been writing since I was eleven. I aspire to publish my poetry and (hopefully) attain some degree of recognition. I went to Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and got my B.A. in Journalism. It is my dream to become a news reporter. It has been difficult financially, and I was forced to find alternate employment. Currently that alternate employment has been in various offices. I was laid off in Feb. and was hired by ABC Marketing in Warren, where I run their food brokerage operation.
-I just finished writing my first full length collection of poetry, Life as a Moving Target. I am working on another, Love Letters.
-My current project is the rewrite of my NaNoWriMo novel from 2005, Pirouette. Everything else is on hold. See the novels page for more details.
-I am a fine art photographer. I am in love with b&w and fine art photography. It started out as a supplement to my journalism major, but quickly became an obcession. I do mainly self-portraits and still life/scenics. I have had various pictures published in small press zines and someday would like to make the cover of National Geographic, Rolling Stone, etc. etc. I have my own darkroom and do all my processing and printing myself.
-I'm a photography instructor at Macomb Community College. Getting the job was pure serendipity, because my friend worked in their adminstrative department, and just happened to mention needing photo instructors. I *really* enjoy teaching. There's nothing like seeing my students when they learn something new, or make a great picture. It is so rewarding. I hope to do this fulltime someday.
-I am a self-taught web techie (as an online friend calls me). I taught myself HTML many years ago to battle an HTML editor gone ballistic and have been coding and learning ever since. I made a website for class last semester, called fototech. It is a how-to site on photography. I do freelance web design projects for people and someday I'd like to do it professionally.
-I am engaged once again! My fiance is a wonderful person, and we're the perfect match!
-I have a myspace. My name there is writer_erin.
-I also recently started getting back into Tarot. I have been reading the cards on and off for about 10 years. I own/co-moderate a message board, and give readings online and in person on a weekly basis. I am also creating my very own Tarot deck, tentatively called the Soul Vision Tarot. Stayed tuned for photos of my progress.
