TIME

GAMES ARE 40 MINUTES .

     20 MINUTE HALF

2 GAMES ARE PLAYED EACH TIME YOU ARE SCHEDULED TO PLAY.

CLOCK STOPS AFTER A GOAL, PENALTY, or BALL OUT OF PLAY.

EACH TEAM HAS (1) TIME -OUT

DELAY OF GAME WILL BE CALLED ON GOALTENDER IF HE HOLDS ON TO THE BALL FOR MORE THEN 5 Seconds with Glove.

GAME PLAY

4 on 4 Hockey

A Minimum of 2 players on the rink, regardless of how many Penalty a team Takes.

Offsides at Center RED LINE .

Results in other Team automatically getting the ball. (no Faceoff, or stop of clock)

Checking

-Checking has been a touchy subject -  This is the Rules for the entire Season , unless the captains decide otherwise .

-NO RUNNING A PLAYER INTO THE BOARDS-  ( There Can be contact by two players if the ball is  in the area, but only if your playing the body to get the ball)

-Although we are not going to allow  the defense to initiate the contact, he is allowed to stand his ground if an offensive player tries to skate through him, or very close to him.

-Basically we all can tell if someone is playing aggressive and trying to hurt, and someone playing hard, but without any intent-

-AND IF you get hit, regardless of if it was fair, or in the rules,  Don't flip out.  Let the 2 captains handle it. -

AFTER A GOAL: THE CLOCK WILL STOP, AND THERE WILL BE A FACEOFF AT CENTER

PENALTY S

-ANYTHING STICK RELATED WILL BE CALLED-

-CROSSCHECKING, SLASHING, TRIPPING, HIGHSTICKING,SPEARING, BUT ENDING, HOOKING, AND THROWING OF THE STICK-

GOALIE INTERFERENCE

PENALTY S ARE 3 MINUTES LONG.

If in the heat of the game someone get's out of hand, (regardless of who it is) they will be given a 10 minute Major.

If they have a problem with a certain person on the other team, That person too will be given a 10 minute major, until both cool off, and work things out.

-Captains will use there discretion when handling penalty-

-GOALTENDING-

THis is a new  segment added because of the increasing questions of what and what not a goalie can do.

1) He can NOT use his Glove to pass  the ball forward.

(he can drop the ball to the side , or behind the net all he wants)

2) He can not leave the goalie Crease and Cover the bALL

  - He will be given a delay of game penalty-

Now, if a goalie wants to come out of the crease and play the ball with his stick, or make an out let pass with his stick forwards, he can.  Goalie's also have the provision of after they make the save, he can place the ball behind his net in what will be a safe zone that the opposing team can not enter until the defense has  touched the ball first with it's stick. Unless he is under a pileup , a goalie has 5 seconds  to drop it behind his net, or pass it with his stick.

-NOTE TO TEAMS: THERE IS A GOALIE CREASE, DON"T CRY IF THE GOALIE PUSHES YOU OUT OF HIS CREASE< IT"S HIS-

SCORING:

BRING A SHEET OF PAPER WITH YOUR TEAM

WRITE DOWN WHO ALL ON YOUR TEAM IS PLAYING THAT NITE.

WRITE DOWN WHO SCORED AND THE LAST PERSON TO PASS THE GOAL SCORER THE BALL, and WRITE DOWN THE TIME OF THE GOAL.

THE LIST SHOULD LOOK SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

Name Goal Scorer 1st, then in parenthesis name assist

M. Mangone (Jackson)  5:00

S. Kelly (Jackson) 6:00

S Kelly  (M. Mangone)  9:00

-Each Team is responsible for there own stats, although it might be wise to write down the other teams also, so there is no problem with what the actual score of the game is when games are low scoring , and teams forget.

You can either e-mail them , or call 412-445-4532, and leave a message with the stats.

POINTS:

A TEAM GETS 2 POINTS FOR A WIN

1 POINT FOR A TIE

0 POINTS FOR A LOSS

OVERTIME:

TEAM WILL HAVE A 5 PLAYER SHOOT -OUT

EACH OF THE 5 TAKING ONE SHOT AGAINST THE OTHERS GOALIE

IF AFTER THE 5 FROM EACH TEAM SHOOT, IT IS STILL A TIE, THE GAME ENDS AS A TIE.

-POINTS FROM A SHOOT-OUT  COUNTS FOR STATS-
