The Hotel Faux Pas Page
Coined, "Hotel Macbeth," by one of it's cast members, Hotel Faux Pas is a play written by Sam Havens and directed by the incomparable Michael Legge of The Fabulous Imbecile fame.

In fact, several members of the
Imbecile cast were dug up to fill out the bill!

The story, simply put, is about The Davenport House and its lack of patrons. Lucinda Davenport threatens the jobs of her two managers, Alex and Roland, if business doesn't pick-up.

And pick-up it does when Hollywood producer Julian K. Silverblatt shows up, along with his assistant Ellie and his bodyguard.

Then a thief, on the run, is thrown into the mix in the guise of Willis. He's not much of a thief at that, but even less a master of disguise.

All these characters with the help of Judith, Roland's former girlfriend and Hollywood celebrity want-to-be, Mrs. Prescott the only permanent resident who resides with her pet mice, Mrs. Harcourt-Hill a rich English transplant, and the totally whacked out multi-European chef Cookie, interact to create one heck of a commotion.

Eric again played a character which was easy for him to play, that of  Mr. Silverblatt's bodyguard, Dubby, an all muscles, little I. Q. type. He had to fake the muscles, and leave them to the audiences imagination.

At the top of the cast list was Medway Players newcomer John Shanahan who played hotel manager Alex. John in life, is a writer, an actor, and a father. To him his being a father is probably his most important achievement. Check out the link to his website. Warning: This site has been deemed addictive by some followers.

Judith, manager Roland's former girlfriend who spends much of the play screaming and faux fainting, trying to get cast by Silverblatt, was played by Stacy Armstrong. Stacy earilier starred as Tracy Lord in The Medway Player's version of
The Philadelphia Story. Word has it that Katherine Hepburn was roling over in her grave when she got wind of what a great job Stacy did as Tracy. And Hepburn was still alive!

Cookie the hot headed chef at the Davenport House who explodes in rages and manic bouts of temperment was played by the still college bound yet versatile actor Jeff Ferraro. He's bound to be seen on Broadway one of these days!

Mr. Silverblatt's assistant Ellie, who falls hard for Alex and harder for Roland and even harder onto the floor, was played by Player's newcomer Tamika Morales, who actually studied in New York at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She plans on a career in the movies and will most likely be seen on a screen near you shortly.

Once again, BJ McCoy joined the cast, this time as the nutty horror movie producer Julian K. Silverblatt. This role was originally going to be played by Michael Legge when he was going to just act. When it became necessary for him to direct, BJ, who was starring in another play, had to do double duty!

When the actor who was going to play Roland had to back-out, Michael had to do double duty taking over the role of hotel manager Roland.

When the actress who was to play Mrs. Prescott had to leave the cast, the "Hotel Macbeth," name was brandished and

Medway player, Rose-Marie Lyon was asked to step in. She also acted in the last play The Fabulous Imbecile.

Lucinda, the Davenport's crazy owner was played by Claire Ledder, whose husband Wayne did behind the scenes work. Claire had to do a lot of crazy things in this one, pointing guns at people, dressing up as a bird, crawling, and taking water to the face!

Ellen Cormier, whose husband Charlie played in the
Imbecile, played the proper, rich English widow who liked Silverblatt's bodyguard.

Chris Wenck, returned to the Medway Players to play the arch-criminal Willis, who liked to do character roles as he robs people blind.

All these actors and characters came together to perform
Hotel Faux Pas, the name of the play since being changed to Hotel Pickle.
The one, the egotistical, the only: Eric Bruno Borgman.
