Of course, there is nothing normal in the life and times of Ralph and Erica. So why would the story of how we found out be any different?!
We found out that we were pregnant on August 16th at about 1 in the afternoon after we took the first home pregnancy test. I took the test and then we waited for the 3 minutes like good boys and girls. And when the 3 minutes were up, we went and looked. There was a really faint line there. Almost non-existent. So we weren't sure. We thought that meant negative. So just to be sure, Ralph called the hotline and within a minute, he hung up the phone. I asked him how he could have heard anything in that short period of time. He said to me, "I heard all that I needed to hear. A line is a line is a line is a line." So we pretty much knew right there that we were pregnant. Before we could say a word, there was a knock on the door. It was the Directv installer that we had scheduled to come out and install our Directv. Perfect timing!!!!!!! So we didn't get to speak about it for 3 hours! After he left, we went and took another test and that one came out much brighter than the first one. So we pretty much knew. That Wednesday, we received the news from the doctor. We were pregnant! |
