| March 25, 2004 I had my doctor's appointment today and they took me off of the Terbutaline. She told me that she would probably see me tomorrow in Labor and Delivery because she had a feeling that I would be going into labor tomorrow. |

| March 26, 2004 Well, my doctor was partially right. I did end up in Labor and Delivery today. I woke up at around 4am with some cramping and contractions but wasn't positive if what I was feeling was actual labor pains and if they were constant or just Braxton Hicks contractions so I timed them for an hour and then called the doctor when I realized that they were about 6 minutes apart and getting a little more intense and did not go away. So they told me to come in to the hospital to be evaluated. So I went and woke Ralph up and off we went. I had my bag packed and everything ready to go so we packed up the car with the necessities and were on our way. We arrived and they checked me to see how far along I am and put me on the monitors to see how far apart my contractions were. My contractions were consistently 5 minutes apart but I had not progressed from the day before when I was at my doctor's appointment. So the doctor suggested that I go walk for the next hour. So we did. That was pretty tough to walk through the contractions. After the hour, they checked me again and it turned out that I had not progressed much at all and so they were going to send me home. They wanted me to take a sleeping pill and call them when I woke up. Either the relaxation from the pill would help subside the contractions or I would continue to have the contractions and I would progress more. So that's what we did. When I left the hospital, I was getting the chills. We weren't sure why. So when we got home, I took the pill and then we took my temperature and sure enough, I had a fever of 101.5. We called the doctor and told her about it and she said to take Tylenol and if that didn't break my fever, to call them and come back in. It did break my fever and the contractions seemed to subside so we figured that I was just having reactions to stopping the medicine. So no baby yet. |
