November 11, 2003 Well, I am now 16wks, 5 days. What a difference between the way I feel now and how I felt a month ago. I still feel nauseous a lot but nowhere near how I was feeling in the first trimester. I have started to be able to feel the baby move now. Little flutters here and there and even what may be a kick here and there as well. I am definitely bigger than I was a month ago too. Amazing!
December 2, 2003 On November 20, 2003, I went to the doctor's for my regular monthly appointment. We heard the baby flip around and finally, the heartbeat. It was beating at 150 beats per minute. She said I was progressing nicely. I haven't gained too much weight. And she told me that I could go ahead and schedule my ultrasound. On November 21, 2003, Ralph and I went for our ultrasound. What an amazing experience. We saw everything. Arms, legs, 10 fingers, 10 toes. We even saw the lens of the eyes!!! And of course, we saw.......................... that it was a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are having a girl! The technician said she never gives 100% for girls so she gave us a 95%. She said it was a safe bet though. ;-)!
January 5, 2004 I am now 24 weeks, 4 days. I can't believe I am this far along. I feel her moving all of the time now. I can even just lay down and see my belly moving from her kicking and punching. I think her dad is whispering things for her to do while I'm sleeping! :-) I had my last doctor's appointment on 12-22-03 and all was well. I received the report from my ultrasound which came out perfect and then the doctor tried to hear her heartbeat. She wasn't cooperating and so he suggested we take a peek to see the heartbeat. No problem with getting a little sneak peek of her! Of course, she was laying on her stomach with her butt facing us. Ralph says she was mooning me. :-) I just can't wait to meet her now. It's amazing how attached you can get to someone you haven't even met yet.
