Shadow of Christ in the Torah

If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.
John 5:46

Moses was a Lawgiver, annointed one, mediator between man and God, prophet, and performer of miracles through the power of God. He was born in the midst of a tyrranical king's threats. He was a chosen deliverer, he spoke the Word of God, was originally rejected(Acts 7:35), he was a man that was very much like Jesus. Though there are many things similar among the two, Moses was but a shadow of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 18:15-20
15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.
16 For this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire any more, or we will die.
17 The LORD said to me: What they say is good.
18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
19 If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.

Exodus 32:9-14
9 I have seen these people, the LORD said to Moses, and they are a stiff-necked people.
10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.
11 But Moses sought the favour of the LORD his God. O LORD, he said, why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?
12 Why should the Egyptians say, 'It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth'? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people.
13 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: 'I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance for ever.'
14 Then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.

* Moses pleads with Yahweh on behalf of the Israelites just as Christ makes intercession for those who are his.

Exodus 33:11-13
11 The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
12 Moses said to the LORD, You have been telling me, 'Lead these people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, 'I know you by name and you have found favour with me.'
13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favour with you. Remember that this nation is your people.

The intimate relation between the Lord and Moses is comparable to that of Jesus and the Lord. Notice in verse 13 Moses expresses his desire for knowledge to please God. This isnt a man who is merely trying to better his standing with God, but rather a man who will dispense this knowledge to Israel in order that they may know the way of the God of Israel.

*sidenote*Moses may not have actually seen the Lord "face to face".

"who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no-one has seen or can see. To him be honour and might for ever. Amen."
1 Timothy 6:16

"No-one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father
John 6:46

He may have seen a manifestation of the presence of God.

30 After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai. 31 When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to look more closely, he heard the Lord's voice:
32 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.' Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.
33 Then the Lord said to him, 'Take off your sandals; the place where you are standing is holy ground

Notice It is an angel appearing to him but it is the Lord's word being spoken
