Jackie Robinson was born January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia. He was the youngest of five children and the son of a plantation owner and house-keeper. Growing up his father abonded the family and to help his mother out he sold hot dogs by a near-by rose bowl. He attended Muir Tech Highschool were he played baseball, basketball, football, and track and field. Jackie played both professional football and basketball but had short career's in both. In 1947 is when he started his baseball career for good. He played on the Brooklyn Dogers for his entire career lasting from 1947 untill 1957. Jackie was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 1962. Before Jackie's basball career has started he also started a life back at home. On February 10th 1946 he married Rachel Annetta Isum and had three wonderful kids. On October 24th 1962 Jackie Robinson had passed away.
