Mines View Park, from the observation deck of the park a breathtaking panoramic view of Benguet's gold and copper mines and the surrounding mountains unfolds before you. It is a spectacular sight to behold and should not be missed when visiting Baguio.
Club(formerly Camp) John Hay used to be the rest and recreational facility for employees of the military and Department of Defense of the United States. This 690-hectare property was turned over to the Philippine government in July 1, 1991 and was initially administered by the Philippine Tourism Authority and then turned over to the Bases Conversion Development.
The Mansion is the official summer residence of the President of the Philippines. It is located on the eastern part of the city along the Leonard Wood Road and right across from Wright Park. It was built in 1908 for U.S. governor-generals and was destroyed in 1945 during the war. The Philippine government later rebuilt the structure and since then it has been used by various Philippine presidents whenever they come up to Baguio for their official visits and engagements. In many instances in the past the Mansion has been the site of international conferences.
Burnham Park is centered around a man-made lake located at the heart of the city. It was named after the city's planner, Daniel Burnham and is synonymous with Baguio City. The park is a favorite place of local residents and visitors alike. It is a green expanse of quiet in the very heart of the city. In the park you will find not only pine trees but also weeping willows and an array of beautiful flowers planted all around.
The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is the premier military institution of the country and is the training ground for future officers of the Armed Forces of the Phillippines. It's mission is:
To instruct, train, and develop the cadets so that they will possess the character, the broad and basic military skills, and the education essential to the pursuit of a progressive military career.
The rose-colored Baguio Catholic Cathedral, located on top of a hill in the heart of the city, is one of the more familiar and most visited landmarks of Baguio. This beautiful structure has twin spires and is one of the most photographed buildings in the city. From Session Road it is accessible by pedestrians who ascend a long concrete stairway of more than a hundred steps.
Wright Park is located at the eastern part of the city and is fronting the main gate of the Mansion. It features a shallow elongated rectangular body of water known as the "Pool of Pines." It is one of the many scenic parks you will find in Baguio City. Tall pine trees and decorative street lights line both sides of the access roads beside the pool. There are times you will find at the park a few Igorots dressed in their native attire and regalia who are willing to pose for a photograph ... of course, for a fee.
The Lourdes Grotto is another Catholic shrine and place of meditation. It is located on a high hill in the western part of the city where you will find the image of the Lady of Lourdes.
