Emmy Reactions from B&B

The B&B set at CBS studios was buzzing as members of the press scrambled to get reactions from the B&B Daytime Emmy nominees. At 6:30AM the nominees received a call from Bradley Bell (B&B’s Executive Producer and Head Writer) with the news -- despite their delight about being nominated, both Susan Flannery (Stephanie) and Jennifer Finnigan (Bridget) described the news as “bittersweet”. They were both disappointed that Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) in particular hadn’t been nominated. “I think Katherine has just grown so enormously as an actress and she just gives such a dimension to the character, it’s really wonderful to watch. So it [the news] was very bittersweet this morning,” Susan sadly explained. She will be allowing the B&B production office to choose the scenes that she will be submitting. Susan spoke to Martha Byrne (Lily Snyder/Rose D’Angelo, ATWT) and Finola Hughes (Alexandra/Anna Devane, AMC) and they all agreed to "do lunch" while in New York, along with other Lead Actress nominees. “First of all you get to know one other and with the separation of the coasts, it’s nice to get a chance to talk to people. That’s why I like to call them when they’re nominated, because people are so open and vulnerable at that moment, so happy and joyful that a lot of themselves come out when you’re on the phone with them for those five or six minutes and they’re so happy that you called, you get a nice little insight into people.” Susan explained.
