As reported last week, Susan Flannery was tickled pink to hear that she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress this year, and she was also pleased to hear that Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell and his writing team, and co-star Adrienne Frantz (Amber) were nominated last week. Soap Opera Weekly reports that this week that they spoke to Susan on the day of the nominations to get a little more feedback on her reaction. The actress, who won in 1975 for her performance as DAYS Laura Horton, said she was surprised to not only get this nomination, but also the Outstanding Lead Actress for the Soap Opera Awards this year (which she lost to Guiding lights Kim Zimmer), because she never does interviews or publicity. When asked for her plans for her Emmy reel, she says that she will probably submit the cabin scenes between Brooke and Stephanie, even though she has never seen them (as she never watches her work on the show). However, Susan knew from the look in Katherine Kelly Langs (Brooke) eyes how powerful those scenes were. 1
