Reaching for a new audience

This summer, B&B writes Daytime history as the show will be the first daytime drama to be available translated into another language. By pushing the SAP button on your remote control while B&B is playing, Spanish speaking people will get B&B in their very own language. To this, B&B is hiring two fresh new Latino faces to the cast. Paolo Benedeti and Sandra Vidal will play Antonio Dominguez and Sofia Alonzo. The Spanish title will follow the new trend, Belleza y poder.

As the Hispanic population increases in the U.S., B&B will be the first soap to be able to offer them a translated daytime soap opera.

Emmy winner Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) refuses to call the move by CBS "exploitative." "It is merely reaching out to a new audience. There has been an extraordinary shift in population in this country and you have to recognize it."
