At the time, Brooke had done her husband Grant Chambers CEO of Forrester creations and none of the Forresters were too happy about that. Ridge was out of bail for the shooting of Grant (which Rick was guilty of and got away with) and wasn�t to go near Grant. But thanks to Felicia, he was able to attend dressed as Zorro. Taylor was there with Thorne. Grant, posing as Napoleon, had a preview of the fall collection in mind, so the Forresters had to show up even though they were dead-set against it all.
Eric invited Stephanie as his date for the evening and they showed up as King Henry VIII and his wife, the queen (of course�) Grant welcomed every guest to the party with sarcastic remarks, except for the few people he actually liked, as the press took pictures.
Stephanie excused herself and Eric caught up with Lauren and Clarke, who were there with the Spectras. Eric noticed they were dressed as Romeo and Juliet and sarcastically said it was romantic and left them alone. Lauren frowned. Sally caught up with them and told Lauren she should tell Eric that she wants him. But Lauren wasn�t too sure since she didn�t want to hurt Stephanie. Sally, who gladly wanted Stephanie to get hurt, pushed Lauren into going after Eric (aaahhhh, the everlasting like/hate between Steph and Sally. Gotta love it!)
Lauren finally decided she was going to tell Eric all about her feelings since Stephanie had had her chance with him. But she noticed Eric and Stephanie going out on the balcony and decided to wait till they got back inside�

Out on the balcony, Eric & Steph started talking about Rick and Bridget and how Stephanie didn�t recent them but actually loved them. Eric was impressed by that. He thought she was incredible for forgiving him for everything he had done to her in the past (leaving her for Brooke etc). She said she didn�t hold anything against him. She asked if he felt like going back inside, but he wanted to stay out there for a while cause there was something he wanted to do� Proposing marriage! She was stunned and thought it was because he wanted to make sure she was always there for him. But that wasn�t his reason. She still wasn�t sure that he was serious until he took out a ring from his pocket and asked her again to be his wife. Clarke spotted them from the other balcony and told Lauren and Sally he honestly thought they were falling back in love. Lauren frowned. Stephanie accepted the proposal.
As Eric and Steph returned from the balcony, ready to start celebrating, Thorne walked up to them and was told the happy news. He was thrilled and decided to make it public. He went up on the staircase and made the big announcement as the people there started cheering, except for the Spectra group and Grant, who felt they were taking the spotlight away from him (oh, you poor guy�)
Eric & Stephanie answered the press questions they were fed before Thorne asked everyone to make some room on the dance floor for the couple. Eric & Steph danced as everyone looked on.
Eric & Steph decided to leave as they had annoyed Grant enough for one evening. And you should always go out when you are on top� So they left the ball and therefore missed when Ridge, as Zorro, took his infamous ride with the chandelier through the window�
