This is a poem dedicated to my, now deceased cousin - David. If you would like to read more about my cousin, please go on to 'A Legacy of David'

David

Little boy brought to us
heaven sent from above
Jesus held u with his hand
from the beginning to the end

Little boy reaching out to us
stamping a mark into our lives
On to the age where life doesnt end
And on the wings of angels you will fly,
and we still dont understand why

I loved you with all my heart
The things you did the stuff you said
will always stay and be apart of me
Even though so young, I know to die is to gain
And little boy, you’ve been set free

I stand here thinking, of all the things you did
But now we’re left with memories of you
Your smile, your laugh, the funny things you said
And now I’m missing you
A lone tear slips down and I know why

I’ll never see you grow up
Into the man you weren’t meant to be
But through my whole life you will be there
Smiling down on me
And sitting on God’s knee!
