Dear Jocelyn and Dennis, Jocelyn printed an article based on theoretical research by me and Dr S B Khadkikar in the December 2005 issue of the AI Newsletter. It was on "Evolving Computation in Bacterial Collectives". I tried hard to spread the idea in the intervening few years but nobody is interested.
Then I read about quantum dots seriously, but people do not know how to program them. Quantum dots can approach consciousness in ALL (any number) of Dimensions.
*** Now, I am from IIT Mumbai (Bachelor's in Computer Science,) and did my PhD in Computer Science (specialization Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA.
** Now, consider this is an "N-dimensional turing machine" THEORETICALLY more powerful than an "N-1 dimensional turing machine", The question arises because in the history of computation course we studied than: N ---- the numbers of integers (straight line) is less than N * N or the power set of N which is less than N * N * N or the power set of N * N
In other words, there are less numbers in the straight line than in the plane.
Now if you want to construct a conscious computer in one dimension you construct a programmable computer in 2 dimensions. (Genuine 2 dimensions, your gates have to be planes). The computer should compute 00, 01, 10, 11 simultaneously and so should the programming be in 2 dimensions.
Quantum dots and bacteria solve in ALL DIMENSIONS simultaneously but cannot be programmed ---------- but you can build a computer (it is an architecture problem) in a fixed number of dimensions and program in those fixed number of dimensions.
Imagine how much graph theory can be programmed simultaneously in 2 dimensions ---- this is like parallel computing ---- but the computer will be conscious in ONE dimension.
Now, who should I present this idea to, can you tell me if I am WRONG or RIGHT ?
Can you help me write this article for the AI Newsletter.
I am right now in India and claim that my 2 dimensional Turing Machine, 2 dimensional computer is more powerful THEORETICALLY than the 1 dimension Turing Machine.
Yes, this is like a parallel processing machine, but at the gate level you should compute 2-dimensionally. Thanks, Erach (erach27 [AT] gmail.com, erach27 [AT] yahoo.com)
