Why do you need consciousness in a digital computer or a biological computer or a bacterial brain or a "25,000 rat neurons brain" ?
(Search on www.google.com for 25,000 rat neurons brain to understand what that is).
We take resort to the Godel's theorem because that is what Dr S.B. Khadkikar knows best.
Explanation of Godel's theorem.
With any logical system based on N finite number of axioms, there exists at least one statement about which one cannot say whether it is true or false.
Nevertheless, one can construct a new logical system with N + 1 axioms including the true or false nature of the undecided statement. This new system is an expanded system and represents definite expansion of knowledge.
The decision of the added axiom's nature is to be made. This will be done only by a conscious observer. This expansion outward of knowledge will continue. HOWEVER, the dilemma would be resolved at any one stage.
This is the theory of expansion of knowledge based on consciousness addition to a system of logic of finite axioms to which the Godel's Theorem applies.
A Turing machine necessarily belongs to a system with a finite set of axioms.
A digital computer to which Godel's theorem applies cannot expand its logic unless a conscious observer is added. This applies to Turing machines also. A digital computer is a Turing Machine.
A human brain (or a bacterial brain or any brain with consciousness) because of its consciousness can expand the scope of logic in Godel's Theorem continuously. This is a temporary measure which it can take continously.
SO WHAT THIS MEANS:
A digital computer or a Turing machine can never expand knowledge. It can only crunch data.
Consciousness is present in the living cell and has to be added using life to the digital computer.
