| Savvy- It was August 21,2000 at the Kentucky State Fair. Every year, my family and I always went to the fair, but this year was special. This year, Plus One was going to be in concert. My sisters and I were so stoked! All day, while we were riding rides and walking around, we tried to see if we could catch a glimpse of the new boy band of Christian music, but no such luck. Finally the time had come for the concert. It was so cool. The music, the dancing, and their hearts for the Lord made me like them even more. After the concert, we started to walk back to our van. There he was five feet in front of me. Jeremy Mhire! He was outside the stadium signing autographs. My heart jumped into my throat as I asked him to autograph the picture I bought earlier; but to my dismay he didn't have a pen and neither did I. So He walked back into the stadium and I went back to my van. Heartbroken. Then on the way home, I realized Plus One was coming to a town close to my home only 10 days later. I thought maybe I could get their autographs when they came back. Well, the day had arrived. Plus One was back and we had tickets. I was happy to be able to see them again in less than two weeks. Once again, the concert was rockin'!!!! I started to like them even more than before. They had their attention was focused on spreading the message of Christ, rather than the hundreds of girls screaming their name. Mom and Dad had been nice enough to go down and hold a place for us in the autograph line. So we could enjoy the rest of the concert. When my sisters and I got to the line. Mom and Dad were right in front! We were the first ones in line!!! We were so excited we could barely contain ourselves. Then the moment had come. Nathan, Jason, Gabe, Jeremy and Nate sat in their chairs tapping their pens on the table, eagar to meet their fans. I placed my picture on the table. Nathan signed his name first, then Jason, then Gabe and now Jeremy. He looked up at me and smiled. After I had built up enough courage I said, "I see you have a pen this time." He looked at me and smiled again. Feeling like I had to explain myself, I spitted out "Last week at the fair, I asked for your autograph but neither of us had a pen." "Yeah, I remember you." he said. I smiled back, but I couldn't help that I was beaming. He remembered me!!! He,again, smiled and said thank you and passed picture on to Nate. Nate signed it, smiled and said thank you. Walking away, I felt happiness, sadness and stupidity. These thoughts kept running through my mind. "He remembered me!!! I wish I could have talked to them longer! But there were so many people behind me!!! Well, I could have said a little something more than just standing there grinning like an idiot. Oh Well, I met Plus One!!!!!!!!!" Well, it's been a year and a half since I've seen them in concert, but I still have hope that someday we'll meet again. |

| Kristen- May 9,2002 Hershey park Arena Let me tell you this it was great. My uncle, aunt, cousin and I pulled into the parking lot a litle after 7. The concert was to start @7:30. When we got inside my uncle is like "Now don't freak out when you see how close we are." My cousin, Marissa and I looked down and we were like "Oh my goodness!" We had gotten second row seats so we were pretty much on top of the stage. After we had found our seats Marissa and I and our uncle headed to the merchandise table. I Got a poster of +1 and Phat Chance cuz I didn't have any. I also got a +1 Keychain. Before we had even gotten to the table the concert started and so we hurriedly told one of the people what we wanted. Back in our seats Marissa and I quickly got into the music, clapping and dancing. Phat Chance was really good and a couple of times Bryan(who is totally cute) looked at me and smiled. *sigh* Then came Natalie Grant, who is another cool singer. I don't remember how long she was on but she sang 5 or 6 songs, including 'whenever you need somebody' without the guys. The stage people got the stage ready for Zoegirl and pretty soon they came out with their two backup dancers. They sang 'With all oF my heart','Even If', 'Dismissed', "Plain'(which is my favorite), and "Anything is Possible'. After they left the stage everyone was getting really excited. Since this was my first time seeing this in concert I was pretty stoked. The time seemed to drag, so I finally started talking to the girl in front of me. In the middle of our convo the lights went off and everyone(including me) started screaming. The band memebers came and took their places and it seemed like forever until Plus one came out. Starting off with "Camoflauge" was an great way to start. Next came "I don't care" and "Last Flight Out" They were crazy on stage, one minute they'd be on one side the next on the other side. I don't remember what came next but I know they sang "Kick Me" (cool choreography), "the promise', 'start to fly' *sigh* (Nate was so cute when he sang that one part),'under the influence' a small portion of 'smooth criminal', 'you', 'Forever' (gabe played guitar),'God Is in this Place', and then 'Going Crazy'. I don't remember what song it was but Jeremy looked right at Marissa and I and smiled and waved. Aghhhhh!!! The lights went out and they disappeared but came back on to sing "Written On My Heart". They had extra water bottles and started squirting it out into the crowd. My aunt got water on her three different times. Then Jason came off the stage and was hitting hands. He was so close to me but he went back onstage before he got to me. So my uncle who was lucky enough to touch him put his hand on mine and said"There you got to touch Jason" I was like "i'm not washing my hand for the rest of my life." *just kidding* One time when Jason was introducing the next song He said we were the best crowd because of the chocolate. It was really cool. So after they left we wanted to get and get their autographs. So we tried to get down to the tour bus but the security guy wouldn't let us. So we were there looking down at the tour buses(we were on a deck) watching people load stuff up, when all of a sudden this guy came out. I recognized him and I was like "Hey, its Nathan!" My uncle finally got him right before he closed the tour bus door. He looked up and smiled and said, "Hi. Thanks for comin'." I said, "Hi and the concert was really cool." He said something else and then said, "See y'all later." He shut the door and Marissa and I looked at each other and said, "We got to talk to Nathan Walters." I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have a message of salvation. to tell you the truth they didn't talk that long. They were only on stage for an hour, but anyways I had a blast and if they come back I'm gonna go. Kathy- I have been going to concerts ever since I was little. Well I went to their concert last year in Waukasua, Wisconsin(it is near Milwaukee). I went with my aunt, uncle and cousin Emily. We were in the balcony and we were screaming and singing, well me and Emily were. Everyone around us was looking very weirdly at us, it was kind of funny. You want to know another funny thing, I was trying to guess who was who(I got their cd like 2 days before) so I said that Jeremy was Gabe and vice versa, and Nate was Jason and vice versa. They sang all the songs that we liked. We had such a great time. Then afterwards we waited about an hour to get their autographs. When we finally got up there I found out that I was wrong with their names. We also talked to Jason for about a minute, the same with Jeremy and Gabe. We talked to nathan for aboput a minute and a half. We talked to Nate for about 3 minutes. Well when we were talking to Nate my cousin and I froze up. He had asked us our favorite songs. I of course said it was My Life, and my cousin waited like a minute and then said that she didn't have a favorite. He also made me blush too by saying that I'm cool. Then my aunt, uncle, and cousin saw them again and (according to rumor) Plus One was walking around at that concert/festival. I think that is totally cool that they can do that. Plus One HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!!!! I used to listen to only non christian music, now i only listen to them really. They couldn't have been a better influence on me, but all thanks go to the one and only God. For their talents and them wanting to share him with the world. |
