THE CANDIDATES - HEAD TO HEAD
| MASSE AND HIS TEAM - 250 collective agreements signed in the last six years. - 90 % of disputes resolved without resorting to lawyers. - Sit on the Fonds d'investissement de la culture et des communications (I always attend). - Sit on the Conseil de la culture. - Sit on the Société du Palais Montcalm. - Produce events for the general public (e.g. October 1 party for the last three years). - Have increased the number of members in eastern Quebec from 420 to 750 (+78%). - Provide members with efficient service. - Implementation of free legal services offered five days/week at the Guild's Quebec City offices (lawyers on site). - Tabling of budget estimates as scheduled every year. - Listen to the Board of Directors and members. - Established a working committee to look at la relève (up & coming musicians), in April 2002. |
SUBIRANA - According to our newsletter, L'Entracte, Subirana has signed only a few collective agreements in six years. - Numerous disputes and constant intervention by lawyers. - Sits on the Fonds d'investissement de la culture et des communications (does not generally attend). - Does not attend meetings of the Conseil de la culture. - Does not serve on any committees where producers are present - Does not produce any promotional live-music events. - Drop in the number of members in Montreal. - Does not provide members with services. In fact, he ignores them. - No legal services offered at the Montreal offices. - No budget estimates have been tabled since he became president. This is unacceptable! - Listens to no one. - Does not want to hear anything about la relève (up & coming musicians), whether it be in the field or in the office. In June 2002, he locked the doors to the offices. The committee has not been allowed to work there since. |
