Asia-Education Team is an open, interdisciplinary and international research and education group. It is integrated by persons coming from the world of cooperation, development education and university. We all have knowledge and experience on the spot on the Asian continent.

We intend to introduce the realities of this continent in our environment, and this is the reason why we carry out social research and produce our own pedagogic material.

We are convinced that the growing world interdependence elicits the need to understand each other in every human field, especially in cooperation for development. Because of this, we talk on the social and cultural facts occurring in other parts of the planet, that enlighten other people´s deepest thoughts and behaviour.

We offer courses, pedagogic materials and educational activities for different age groups and levels of knowledge, led to give a broad perspective on the complex political, social and cultural scene of the several countries in this continent.

In the sphere of permanent education, we address to all the people who are interested in cooperation for development, teaching staff, students and professionals in the social field and working with immigrants, political, social and cultural researchers, businesspeople, travellers and anyone who feels specifically involved in the cultures and countries of the Asian continent.

In the sphere of formal (from primary school to university) and informal education, we address to both teachers through the production of pedagogic material and methodological proposals, and pupils through activities for peace and development in the classroom or during the free time. In this case, not only do we approach development topics, but we also manage activities (role-plays, cooperative games, analytic and reflective exercises) on varied current affairs in the whole Asian continent or in concrete countries.

• "India, a sight on the diversity". It is targeted at universities as an optional subject for students. It is a twenty-hour course (two credits), although it can be extended to thirty hours (three credits) if considered necessary.
• "India, a different sight". It can be directly organized by Asia-Education Team or co-organized with other associations (NGOD´s, cultural organizations, etc). It is an intensive course where it is possible to combine thematic lectures on the political, economic, social and cultural background of the country with discussions, leisure activities, travelling information, musical hearings, Indian documentaries and films, and even with local menus (spices are optional). This course is usually run in holiday camp houses or similar, which creates a relax atmosphere among the participants, either during two weekends or one weekend plus a bank holiday. A feasible alternative is to prepare a reduced programme for a weekend.
• "Indostanic countries". It is a "second level" course that deepens the understanding of India and includes an introduction to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The same methodology as in "India, a different sight" is used.
• "Asia, a diverse continent". It is co-organized with and targeted at teaching groups (movements for pedagogic renovation, trade unions, training schools, etc) that are motivated to work on some of the multiple themes and methodologies which can be found in the pedagogic proposals L’Àsia, un continent divers (Ed. Icaria, Barcelona, 1999), written by members of Asia-Education Team. This course can be adapted to each specific case.

• Pierre Alain Baud. French communicologist. Expert in cultural issues of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Responsible for Asian affairs in several French NGOD´s.
• Harsh Kapoor. Indian sociologist. Expert in geopolitical and work issues of the Indostanic subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal). Responsible for Asian affairs in several French NGOD´s.
• Nathalie Lebris. Linguist. Expert in communication and intercultural issues. Ex-cooperant in Vietnam.
• Imma Llort. Master´s degree in women´s studies. Expert in gender and development issues, development education and environment and development. Ex-cooperant in India.
• Fernando Peleato. Master´s degree in applied social studies. Expert in education and development issues. Ex-cooperant in India.
• Bruno Roelants de Vivier. Belgian doctor and journalist. He lived in China for many years, where he studied Chinese medicine at university and worked in cooperation affairs. Expert in work issues, especially in cooperativism and health.
