Philosophy Of Agricultural Education

Agriculture education is vital not only to those who may pursue the traditional agriculture life style, but also to those who utilize agriculture on a day to day basis.  Agriculture is life. Everything comes either directly or indirectly from the soil. Educational programs such as agricultural education, and FFA should never perish.  Whether the need is for new alternatives for fuel, or lower cost foods and clothing, continuing education in the agricultural field is a necessity for the current generations as well as the generations to come.  The role of an agriculture educator is not limited to introducing agriculture to first timers, but it is also important that the educational program implements curriculums that will allow the student to become more knowledgeable through doing.  It is know wonder why the FFA motto is “Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.”
