Mike's List

What will the man be held accountable for as the head of his wife?

I would suspect something along these lines:

  • How much he loved, nourished and cherished her.
  • How much he gave himself up for her.
  • How much he interceded for her in prayer.
  • How much he pointed her to Christ, the ultimate supplier of her every need.
  • How much he lived out christ-likeness before her.
  • How much he encouraged her to be spotless, holy and blameless.
  • How much he helped her to bear fruit and affirmed her.
  • How much he lived with her in an understanding way.
  • How much he bore her sorrows and was acquainted with her griefs.
  • How much he confided and trusted in her.
  • How much he was longsuffering towards her.
  • How diligent he was to give her her daily bread, so that she did not want.
  • How much he delivered her from evil.
  • How much he shielded her from temptation.
  • How much he forgave her her trespasses against him.
  • How much he made their home a place of green pastures and still waters.
  • How he went about restoring her soul.
  • How he led her in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
  • How he anointed her head with the oil of gladness.
  • How much goodness and lovingkindness he made to follow her wherever she went.

Well, that's enough to humble me... If Christ is our head and did these things for us, we are to go and do likewise.
