The darkness drew the fall out into a terrible eternity of fear. Then a heavy leaden weight hit my back and the cold moist ground hit me like a hammer, and then thank the blessed Tuilindar, unconsciousness hit me taking all the pain from my body. Some while later a awoke and sat up stiffly from where I had fallen, and tried to open my eyes, panic hit me for the fear of blindness. I could see no light, and nothing of the walls about me were visible through the gloom. From beside me the smell of a human assailed my nose. It was a tangy smell, with something exotic and spicy mingling with it. Then a searing flare of light hit me like a gust of wind. To my right a ruffled looking Elve stands holding a sword that is sheathed in a halo of the light. Behind him another elf crouched like a trapped cat looking anxiously at the hole through which we fell, beside me a human woman still unconscious but breathing. " Are you injured Kyla" a decidedly human voice asked from behind. And an answering singsong "Yes" "I seam to have fallen from my horse" the woman says as she stands, and dusts herself off." I..umhmm think that’s it up there" the elf by the wall said pointing towards the hole above "My...horse" the woman looks up in disbelief. "Hmmhmm, I think that we should move" The elve with the glowing sword said " I have a rope " the other elf offered helpfully " We cant lift the horse" I knew it would be to heavy "perhaps there is another exit, somewhere" It was a few minutes of shuffling around before the party of us were situated to suit a search for an exit. By that time I had learned the names of my fellow ill met adventurers. The dank hole led out into a great recession which stretched on into the gloom ahead. Then out of the darkness two gloomy passages opened into roughly hewn corridors. We rooted around for any clues as to where either lead, finding nothing we where about to just pick one of the two and then keep going when out of the shadows two lumpish orbs came floating. Not sure of what they were I thought back on my travels and the tales I had heard, and it came to me that the orbs were perhaps elementals of water. I relayed the info and the wizard Threndil affirmed it, still we did not know if they were hostile so I advanced upon it. The creature missed me by only a hairs width. Edren, the cat like elf tried to sneak past the creatures and was slapped back then with a hard charge Kyla bowled into the foremost of the creatures striking a heavy blow. I struck out and missed the creature. Distracted by Edren’s ploy to move behind them they opened themselves to a strike by the human Kiowen who hit lightly. The creatures pressed on towards Edren, pushing out with log snake like watery mandibles. Kyla again used her lance to skewer the closest of the two creatures turning it into a puddly mess on the floor. Kiowen, and I both began to head towards the surviving orb and quickly slew it with the help of Kyla again, and Edren. The combat ended we all set and let the shakes of weary fear seep away before searching for any clues as to where the creatures came from. Kyla, and Edren stumbled into a large open room that lost itself in the grey flickering light of the wizards sword. Sounds of water assailed our ears from the darkness just beyond our sight. And then a large orb similar to the two smaller ones came lumbering into the view of myself and the other two elves. Of which I was the only one to rush up and give it a strike. "I will wait for more monster fodder first" I heard the feline rogue state sarcastically. Then again Kyla charged forth into the fray, striking two great blows that shook the creature before me, and with a large heaving swing of our swords, and the finely aimed shots of Edren’s bow the elemental crashed down onto the floor as the swords light went out plunging us into darkness. Pulling my lantern from my satchel I moved forward along the wall scouting for more of the vile creatures. Then from the gloomy shadows another arose upon me, nearly taking me by surprise it was two long minutes of despair before the shuffling sounds of the party came into my hearing. Kyla and the Monk Hirako hit the creature with a large rending attack that drove it back and dissipated its watery form.
