ARTICLE X - SUSPENSIONS AND REMOVALS

SECTION I - Suspensions

CLAUSE I - Suspension of a member of Epsilon Phi Upsilon may be imposed on the vote of the Executive Council for any reason the Council deems valid.

CLAUSE II - Suspension may also be imposed by a one-half plus one majority vote of active members present at an official meeting on wounds of non-compliance with the rules of Faulkner University or Epsilon Phi Upsilon.

CLAUSE III - Any shame or reproach brought upon Faulkner University or Epsilon Phi Upsilon by a member of Epsilon Phi Upsilon is grounds for suspension by a vote of the Executive Council.

CLAUSE IV - Suspended members of Epsilon Phi Upsilon may not participate in any club activities or benefit from membership in the club. Any suspension may also include a fine. Members, though suspended, will at the direction of the Executive Council be required to be at all events and to take part in all fundraisers and service or other projects.

CLAUSE V - Suspensions and unpaid dues and fines will carry over from fall semester to spring semester. Suspensions will also carry ova from spring semester to fall semester.

SECTION II - Removals

CLAUSE I - Removal of a member of Epsilon Phi Upsilon will occur automatically upon accumulation of four unexcused absences in a semester. Failure to pay dues by the ninth week of the semester will result in removal upon a majority vote of the Executive Council.

CLAUSE II - In the case of new members, removal will occur if they have not paid dues by the seventh week following their initiation on the vote of the Executive Council.

CLAUSE III - Removal may also be imposed by a three-fourths majority vote of active members present at a meeting on grounds of violation of Faulkner University rules or the Epsilon Phi Upsilon Constitution.

CLAUSE IV - A period of Spring Cleaning’ will take place at the end of each school year at the direction of the Executive Council. This ‘Cleaning’ will be used to remove members who are ‘dead weight.’ The method of removal will be determined by the Executive Council.

CLAUSE V - Removed members may be reinstated only on the same basis as for new members.
