| Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide programs that promote human welfare. Twenty-two dynamic women founded this illustrious organization on January 13th 1913 on the campus of Howard University. These visionaries sought to institute an organization that would not only thrive on service, sisterhood, and scholarship but establish and maintain high standard of morality among young women. Eighty-nine years later membership in our glorious sisterhood has reached 240,000 college educated women with over 950 chapters located in the continental United States, Bahamas, Bermuda, Haiti, Japan, Liberia, Republic of Korea, West Germany, and the Virgin Islands. |
