The Epsilion Story
(keep in mind that this is a VERY complicated storyline...)

In 1996, on modern-day Earth, secret experiments were going on in regard to creating a hybridized human.  The first naturally-born hybrid was born then, in a small country in Western Europe.  No one knew anything about the child, and since it was naturally-born, no one could argue the fact that he was a normal baby.  In truth, the covert operation that created him had tampered with his DNA, and mixed him with a chimpanzee.  He looked normal, surely, but there was something quite primal about his attitude, when he came of age.  The experiments were continued, and in 2004, the CSC (Covert Science Coalition) created a hybridized human baby without the use of a human mother to give it birth.  Cloning experiments may have been banned, but hybridizing was not, and the CSC used that loophole to gain their right to make hybrids.  However, the governments of the world realized how profitable hybrids could be, and in that same year, they bought out all of the CSC's facilities, even hiring back some of the scientists to do the work for them.

In 2013, things went wrong.  Naturalist protesters firebombed
Dario Biocenter, located in southern California.  The acts of terrorism caused many hybrids to escape their laboratory home and flee into hiding in the world outside.  It was one of those hybrids that later started the Trench Organization, in 2021.  This new crime syndicate ruled over all others until its leader, Trench, went missing that same year.  It stayed near the top of the game until its leader reappeared in 2028, seemingly unaged from the time he disappeared.  That was when the Trench Organization rose again, and reigned.

Dario Biocenter was rebuilt during that time, and it created a hybrid that was to be naturally-born.  The chosen mother could no longer have children because of an injury during a car accident, but she so desperately wanted a child that she turned to the Biocenter for help.  They donated an experiment to the cause, and the third naturally-born hybrid was born in 2031.

In 2038, the
Trench Organization started a reign of terror that would go down in the records.  It all started with the killing of a family that owed them a debt.  The only surviving member, Someko, ended up killing Trench after a long chase across the United States.  Trench's right-hand man, Artis, was also killed that same year.  A young boy that was traveling with Someko, named Lanino Harvard, was taken by the Trench Organization in dire revenge for the loss of their leader.  Strangely enough, they also took Lani's dog with.  However, five years later, the Trench Organization reappears with a new leader: Lani.  A crazed leader, Lani causes lots of havoc and bombs a nuclear power plant in southern Arizona merely to get his face on television.  Someko and her friends came to the rescue again that year, and though many people were killed, the Trench Organization was laid in its grave at last.

In 2047, just four years after the fall of the
Trench Organization, a new syndicate appeared, though it was not made for crime.  Its goals were to categorize and protect hybrids all over Earth.  Every hybrid is given a number, much like a social security number, and is given Syndicate jobs.  The jobs were low-paying and grueling, and most of the hybrids hated it.  In rumors, some hybrids would be killed if they stopped showing up to work.  The rumors spread very quickly, and only two years after the Syndicate's birth, a revolution against it began.  Syndicate councilmen, found to be ex-members of the Trench Organization, sent out human assassins to kill any participants in the revolution, but they never counted on Timber to revolt.  Timber was that same hybrid born in 2031, and he had suspicions that the Trench Organization killed his parents in 2043.  With revenge compelling him, Timber makes it all the way to the Syndicate's leader, Pyre.  He was not successful in killing him, and the Syndicate survived.

A
colonization project that started in 2041 was finally successful when a hybrid named Gideon 376 was born on a laboratory on Mars.  It was 2078 when he was born, but it was only five years later in 2083 that the colonization project was abandoned and all of the hybrids and scientists living in laboratory domes on Mars were evacuated.  Gideon refused to be assigned a parent, once he got to Earth, and ended up just living on the streets, until he was old enough to work and live in a house on his own.  In 2095, that happened.  However, his life took a wrong turn when the Spaceport he worked at was seized by a militant group.  He piloted his ship illegally out of the spaceport and went to Mars, which had been re-colonized during his years on Earth.  The long trip ended up in the militant group being crushed, and therefore, so was the Syndicate that it worked for.  Gideon's name went down in history books.

In 2114, a splintered-off part of the militants destroys the
space station Blessing. Most of the citizens of the space-based city escaped to Gelbridge, Mars, the site of a huge laboratory that specialized in animal hybridization.  Its name was Oracle Innovations.  Six years later, a huge accident caused an O.I. employee to be hybridized.  His DNA altered enough that he grew a tail, started growing indigo hair to replace his dirty blond hair, and his eyes turned bright green.  Sketch Wells was never the same, and ended up going to Gelbridge Combat Academy to learn how to defend himself.  While attending that school in 2121, another accident at Oracle Innovations caused many of its experiments to escape.  Sketch and his friends end up being assigned to catch those experiments and bring them back to the laboratories.  Their mission was successful, and everyone was happy.

On the other side of
Mars in a city named Epsilion, a new mayor came to office.  He set forth a new series of laws that made hybrids have equal rights with humans.  Eight years later, he is still the mayor, and his laws are still in effect.  Epsilion is the most desireable place to live, for hybrids.

And during that same time, a place named Cheverie Island was introduced on Earth.  It's an artificial island, specifically made to be an easy stop for spaceships coming from Mars.  The island isn't huge, but it has enough to run like a small city.
Hybrids aren't as welcome there as they are in Epsilion, but they're certainly welcome enough!
