Kanghwado Island
These pictures are from a weekend trip to Kanghwado island with my friends from the English club - Yeon-Mi, Christine, Yasmin, Joe, David, Insung and Jack. The trip took place on November 23-24, 2002

It was very nice to get out Seoul for a change. You could notice the difference in the air when we arrived in Kanghwado. We had tow rooms at a cheap hotel ment for families and marrid couples. On the way threre we were discussing who would be married to whom and whose cousin etc. Luckily they didn't ask at the reception.

In the evening we cooked Samgyopsal all together. You grill pork (bacon) meat and wrap it into some lettuce with a spicy chili paste. It is very tasty. Naturally you eat it with rice and kimchi.

The next day we went for a walk to see some nearby palaces and temples. Kanghwado served as a refuge for the Korean royalty several times during their wars, so they built many beautiful buildings there.
