The Ultimate Dhampire Shrine

Hello, and this is Arthur L.K. (with Ross Cohen doing some of the grunt-work), bringing you my very first Anime Shrine. Vampire Hunter D is my favourite Anime movie of all time, and I thought that this might be fun. The Ultimate Dhampire Shrine will be dedicated to bringing you information about the Vampire Hunter D movies, and maybe displaying some fan fiction and stuff. I hope you enjoy!
The Movies!
Vampire Hunter D, 1985
The first Vampire Hunter D movie was surely the greatest Anime of it's decade. Basically, it described to the viewer the internal conflict that D had over being a Dhampire (half human, half vampire -- don't ask me how they came up with word). D, as the name of the Anime suggests, hates and hunts vampires for a living... You see where I'm going with this. Basically, he resents his origins. Throughout the movie, you see him searching for and fighting through the castle of Mangus Lee. Well, he wants to kill Lee, and the entire "castle" plot-scene is building up to the battle with him. Of course, this all occurs while D fights his vampire instincts.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, 1998
The second movie (and last) of the Vampire Hunter D line is called Bloodlust. D is still fighting himself in this movie, and he is also trying to kill and ancient vampire, but something does change: D HAS COMPETITION! A new group of vampire hunters, the Markus Brothers, come into the scene, and both them and D are trying to "take the bounty" on Meier Link's (the vampire) head . This movie is extraordinary, and quite a bit more violent than the first one, so see this -- after you've seen number one.,
The Characters!
D, Vampire Hunter
D is a very strong figure. He is quiet and still, and he is quite controlled -- very rarely does he allow the vampire inside of him to show. You see, he is Dhampire, which means he is both human and vampire. He actually is soft on the inside, for he seems to fall in love with Doris Lang at the end of the first movie; until then, you wouldn't think so... D wears very consealing clothing, which consists of a large trench coat and an awesome black hat. He bears an beautifully designed sword, a symbiotic demon in his hand (it sucks up a monster!!!), and the only horse on earth I would ever want.
Doris Lang
Doris Lang is a sweet (and may I say innocent) girl whom was chosen by Mangus Lee as his new mate. She led relatively simple life, but now D has take to finding her. He also seems to like her a bit... She is a leading character, but really, little is learned about her.
Dan Lang
Dan is a small boy, the brother of Doris. He thinks very highly of his sister, and he immediately idolizes D at the initial meeting of him.
Count Mangus Lee
Mangus is an ancient vampire, his life dating back to the nuclear war that nearly destroyed the earth. That would make him over 10,000 years old. He is amazingly powerful, having control via fear over the entire near world, and he has chosen Doris as his new wife; things tend to get boring after all that time. Of course, D needs to save Doris, so a "problem" may arrise between he and Mangus...
Lamica Lee
Lamica is the daughter of Mangus. She is an elitist whom believes that vampires are superior to humans, and therefore she is disappointed and upset that her father marries them. I find her rather attractive(...)!
Rei Ginsei
Rei is Mangus Lee's "lacky." His only wish is to become a vampire. He is very powerful, and is a rival warrior to D.
The Markus Brothers
Comprised of Leila(the sister), Borgoff (the eldest), Nelt (the titan cyborg), Kyle (the blade expert), and Grove (the astral projector), they are a deadly vampire hunting squad and are D's new competition.
Charlotte Elbourne
Charlotte is the "victim" of the kidnapping imposed on her by Meier Link. Charlotte belongs to a very rich, aristocratic family; her fathers name is John Elbourne.
Meier Link
Meier Link plays the role of the co-antagonist in VHD:BL. He "kidnaps" Charlotte, but he does it for nothing short of true love -- in fact, she seems to love him too. D is chasing him through the entire movie, and Meier is under constant (and he feels unnecissary) pressure.
Carmilla
She is the other co-antagonist. She was an ancient vampire whom has died, but her spirit still exists in her mansion that Meier and Charlotte go to; they are seeking use of her stellar vehicle that can bring them to their place of peace. She has been planning her reincarnation for hundreds of years.
The Barbaroids
They are the mutant that Meier Link hired a private guards against D. They are a diverse and fiersome group.
