Legolas:
Many generations past,
In the reign of Elendil,
There lived some strong men
In the land of Gondor.

Men:
Gondor!

Elendil:
Gondor!

Legolas:
And the king built a kingdom,
And he built a great city.
But others, it seemed,
Had their eyes on Gondor.

Sauron:
Gondor!

Legolas:
When Elendil got wind of an upcoming battle
He gathered some Elves from their cities afar.

Gil-galad and Elves:
Eldar!

Legolas:
And Isildur his heir,
With his long dark brown hair,
Mustered men.

Men:
And we set out to war!

Legolas:
A great epic battle,
The Last Alliance of Men,
And of Elves...

All:
To save Middle Earth
We'll fight for our turf
Gondor, Gondor
We have one last chance
So throw in your lance in
Mordor

Legolas:

When both armies mustered each man,
Then the great war began.

All:
Elves fought against orcs
And the men fought with valor
Until a platoon of them
Started to run

Men:
We run!
We run!

Legolas:
So they ran far away
Far away from the fray
Driven out by their fear of Sauron!

All:
The cowardly ones
The cowardly sons
Gondor, Gondor

Men: For we fear for our lives!

All:
The cowardly ones
The cowardly sons
Of Gondor

Legolas:
But the prince left behind a terrible,
Terrible curse.

All:
I curse my men!

Isildur: I curse my cowardly men!

All:
I curse those men!

Isildur: I curse all of those men!

All:
And their souls too

Isildur: All their souls when they die!

All:
To proceed

Isildur:
Your treason will keep you forever in those mountains
While your hearts yearn forever to leave!

All:
The unlucky ones, the unlucky sons
The Dead, The Dead
From bad blood to worse
The dead were all cursed
The Dead.

The Dead:
We despise all
We deny all
They remind us
Of our fall!

Legolas:
The sad, sad tale
Of the Dead!
