| Gandalf: Sauron's powers were increasing day by day And Saruman knew that the devil was to pay If Sauron's hand Did rule the land All good would surely fall. But however, Saruman was not too scared For this sort of thing he always was prepared He'd find a way Assure his stay And rise above it all. He was tired of being good And doing all the things he should He could see that Sauron had potential And that he'd be ruling all eventual Better at Morgoth's right Than have to die in the good fight 'Cause he'd have more power than the good guys They'd be killed and sliced up just like French fries But he, Saruman, would rise above it all. Sauron saw that Saruman was turning bad And when he saw this he was feeling very glad So Sauron forged a wizard cloak A colored cloak for him to wear Saruman was pleased for it was very fine The tasteful style was the ultimate in good design And this is why it caught the eye: A king would stop and stare And when Sari tried it on He knew his white-cloak days were gone! Such a dazzling cloak of many colors How he loved his cloak of many colors! Being wise was stupid now For he had power and know-how Thanks to Sauron and his cloak of colors How he loved his cloak of many colors. It was red and yellow and green and brown and blue When we met I saw that gaudy cloak of his And I knew he'd given up the goodly Wiz Its rainbow sheen Was almost mean He oozed with pride and scorn. When I told him it looked dumb His powerful staff began to hum Then he trapped me atop his tall, black tower And I heard him sing at every hour: "I look handsome, I look smart! I am a walking work of art! In my dazzling cloak of many colors How I love my cloak of many colors." It was red and yellow and green and brown And scarlet and black and ochre and peach And ruby and olive and violet and fawn And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve Cream and crimson and silver and rose And azure and lemon and russet and gray And purple and white and pink and orange and Blue! |
