Hi everyone, Okay, done the poll results! FINALLY!! Here they are... enjoy! :) ====================== SECTION 1: WrestleFest ====================== [1] On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and 1 sucking, rate WrestleFest V. In general, what did you think of the card? Here is how the numbers came out: 7 - 3 people 7.5 - 1 person 8 - 5 people 9 - 5 people 10 - 1 person Overall, looks like everyone enjoyed the card. Not many comments were given in this section, just a couple that were given: "I'd have to give it somewhere between an 8 or a 9. Not that I don't think it was awesome, just that I think it can get even better from here, but that will come possibly with a slightly larger/more involved roster. But all in all, great PPV." "This ppv owned. It is the best i have read in a very long time. If I/W doesn't get put on the map (high ranking in Fansite and SR) then i can definitley say that they have NO idea how to rank. Everybody brought their "A" game to the table." "Myself, I give it an 8 or 9. Best card I've read in a LONG while. Nice to see story lines wrapped up and others begin. Quite a few curves. Overall, a VERY entertaining card, and, subsequently, read." [2] What was the best and worst match, in terms of writing, at WrestleFest V? Again, most people enjoyed all of the matches. The one that most people really liked though was the ladder match between Shane St. Clair and Johnny Spades, which I agree with as Peter Bell did an awesome job. Some comments: "The best match, writing-wise, would have to be the North American Title match. Everything blended together nicely. I really can't name the worst, though... because everything was so good." "Best: Ladder Match. Pete Rocks :). Anderson & Robson were used correctly (I hate it when people make Robson swear)." "The best match in terms of writting was the St. Clair vs. Spades match. That was really awesome!! I can't really say which match was the worst, because I didn't think any match wasn't well written." [3] What was the best and worst match, in terms of angles, at WrestleFest V? Comments from handlers: "I think the IC Title Tourney Finals had some great developement." "The Sledge Return was good, but again will mean something is built upon." "The Main Event was great and has a lot of potential to work into another PPV Main Event down the road." "Best angle - Flynt and Travers aligning. Didn't see it coming." "Well, I'm biased, but I think the world title match was definetly the best in that department. The NA title match was pretty good as well. The obvious answer for worst in terms of angles would be the six man tag." "Best? Flat out, Travers/Prophet/Flynt making themselves known. Yes, I was part of it, but hey, so far as I know NO ONE suspected Flynt... it was beautiful. :) Worst? I don't know if there was a bad match angle wise... I was generally impressed from bottom to top of the card. IMHO, this was one of the BEST in I/W history!" "Best: Main Event (I wasn't too shocked since I've seen heel Prophet, and not too many faces say Fuck...or 'fook' in this case. I'm sure others were though." "I liked the Spades-St. Claire match. I thought it was best on the card and not because my guy was in it. Pete did an outstanding job. The Main Event get's kudo's as well. Very nice turns that nobody saw coming." "Best match in terms of angles? Though I marked for Lumski's Ponch-a-nator, I'd say St Clair vs Vahn... The whole Halston joining them thing." [4] Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? Most people didn't have a problem with any of the results... just one comment to give: "Would have liked to have seen, Vahn advance in the IC Finals to hype up the Franchise Players vs. Fraternity angle that's been culminating. Great match though by Spades and St. Clair." [5] What was the biggest shocker of the event? "Flynt's turn" "The incredible IC title match." "Desert Scorpion's appearance" "St. Clair jumping off the Giga-Tron :), Halston joining the Franchise Players" "The Sex Pistols :)" "For me, it was Desert Scorpion... but I have a feeling that won't be much of a surprise to anybody BUT us older members who've been around or were around way back when. For others, I can only assume it was Flynt siding with Travers." "Even though I sort of saw it coming, The Commish's heel turn was a big shock." "Return of Desert Scorpion." "Travers winning the World title was a real socker, I honestly didn't see that one coming!" "The Elijah Flynt turn was far and away, especially for me, since I've been talking to Pete for the last couple of weeks for plans after the PPV and he never even gave as to this. ( ;" ================================= SECTION 2: THE IWF/WOW IN GENERAL ================================= [6] Who, in your opinion, deserves a bigger push in the IWF/WOW? Several guys were named... November, Johnny Sledge, Johnny Spades, Justin Arcola, Shane St. Clair, Charlie Vahn, Chris Carter, Trevor Redding, Carl Lumski. Comments, in general: "Elijah Flynt. And that says a lot since I hate lengthy rps. The guy just busts his ass." [7] Who, in your opinion, deserves a smaller push in IWF/WOW? "ANYbody who doesn't participate regularly!" [8] What do you like about the IWF/WOW? "Cards are always high quality and on time, the people who do participate are pretty talented with their RPing, and most importantly, the overall atmosphere...the people are friendly, easy to work with, and the IRC chats are great. " "The amount of angle developement, and potential for angle developement." "Good leadership, excellent roleplays, constant updates. Couldn't be better than it is now." "Wrestlers aren't judged by how many paragraphs they can spew out without a breath of air. Organization of the cards, handling of newcomers, continuity, attention to history, website." "I like feds with longevity and this is just fun to be in. Very organized but not to the point where i'ts so professional you can't follow." "There's been alot more participation. Some guys have awesome roleplays." "A lot of things... its deep history, the handlers (as I'm friends with a few of them), the whole sense of purpose it often has (or had in the past and will again?), timely cards... WEEKLY cards at that, good angles (now), great leader (you, Chris), more participation by folks now, etc., etc. Generally, IWF/WOW, to me, feels like an honest to God real fed... quite cool." "Level of participation, timiliness of cards." "On time, with great writing. This is one fed i have been in that is consistently ontime." "I like the level of participation. The quality of roleplays, and the quality of the matches and cards." [9] What do you dislike about the IWF/WOW? "I think there should only be one flash card per week for normal shows, but the pre-show card is a cool idea to add on PPV weeks." "Not enough one-on-one angles, it's been about stable wars lately." "Not much, however, I still think some handlers have to either start rp'ing consistently or get out... and also bring in talent that WILL roleplay. BUT, please, keep The Giant Redneck!!! :)" "If I had to nitpick about anything, it'd be that there are too many screwjob finishes on the weekly shows...the constant run ins and interference can get a bit old, no matter how much heat they serve to build. " "Not too much, actually. Maybe just being on the east coast and waiting until midnight to get the cards, but that's not too big a deal." "I talked about this in mIRC...the matchwriters going 1........2.........3!!!!!....NO!!!! and defying time like that. That's not unique to the I/W. Just something that bugs me & people do it everywhere!" "I have a hard time visualizing wrestlers. A lot of them seem very generic and non-unique to think about. Some wrestlers just remind me of the lack of creative appeareances (aka WCW wrestlers). Also, there needs to be more creative matches. Maybe one or two matches per Mayhem should be unique (ladder match, TLC match, inferno, objective matches...etc..)." "Not much... well, I have one complaint. On the roleplay show, it's really annoying having Tony Shiabone or whatever, I think it'd be much better with a different writer that was a better writer. :)" [10] Who do you think are the top roleplayers in the IWF/WOW (besides yourself!) Well, here are the final votes for this question: 10 - Elijah Flynt 9 - Eric Travers 7 - Shane St. Clair 5 - Jeremy Thranton, the Prophet, Johnny Spades 3 - November 2 - Alex Cote, Johnny Sledge 1 - Chris Carter, Sean Eden, Carl Lumski, Justin Arcola =============== SECTION 3: YOU! =============== [11] How do you feel you have been treated recently? "As a handler, no complaints. You ARE a fair prez and a good, solid booker." [12] !!! Very Important !!! What would you like to see your character do leading up to the next PPV? This question was different for everyone, obviously, so no real results for it. =) ==================== SECTION 4: THE CARDS ==================== [13] What do you think of MAYHEM? "we need more writers for it" "Mayhem is fair. Nothing wrong there. Although I'd like to see more backstage interviewers. I'm getting kind of sick of using Anthony Edwards. More backstage interviewers would be FANTASTIC. I'll even offer Martini for backstage interviews. Hey! Let me know what you think about that. I don't use Martini that often so she may be good as a face interviewer. " "Typically pretty good. I'd appreciate more clean victories though, it seems like every match on Mayhem ends in a dirty way. " "Good. Sometimes a little more interesting then other weeks but hey, what do you expect. There are good in my book. They serve the purpose to feed angles and have solid matches." "My favourite thing to watch, I mean read, on a monday night!" "Love the addition of a couple dark matches per show... that's cool. Stick the non-rp'ers and the newcomers on there, or what-have-you. Nifty." "I like the number of matches per week... what is it? Four? Five? Whichever it is, it's the perfect balance IMO. Also, we just don't have the roster to really hold more matches... we'd just repeat ourselves like "real wrestling" does." "Though if someone is willing or interested in writing a match per week, that'd be tres cool, and we could add a match per week... maybe." [14] What do you think of BattleCentre? "I like the way it's done. The commentaries are short and to the point, and it's well arranged." " Will it return to summary matches?! Heh. I do like it, Moe does a terrific job." "I dig it, but I wish the commentators would talk more about the RP's." "Well, the analysis the commentators gave when the show first came out seemed a lot better. Maybe it's just me. Sometimes I guess I can sense some sarcasm when they talk about the wrestlers who just had a promo, and it's their job to help sell the guy. I guess there needs to be more selling." [15] What do you think of the updates? "At times a little clustered together, but has a great deal of info in to keep up on stuff." "Not much. I mean, they're just updates... look fine to me. Of course, I READ the cards themselves... so reading the synopsiss' doesn't really add anything for me, BUT, it is neat to see it, like a re-cap like deal. One of those small things that make I/W seem more like a "real" fed. [NOTE: I DO read them by the way, just thought I'd clear that up!]" [16] What did you think of the Golden Turnbuckles? "It was great, as always, with the writing and the set up, always a lot of fun. The only problems came from some of the categories and nominations, but that's more due to the state of the fed the last six months than anything. " "I enjoyed them a great deal even though my character came in too late to figure prominently in the show." "Didn't mean much to me since I was gone for the duration of the original awards, but did get a kick out of being on the winning show." "Fan-freakin-tastic! :) GT's are amazing... makes IWF/WOW seem that much more like a "real fed", I know it's a game, but it truly adds to the experience that this goes beyond merely rp's and stuff, but it's a group of guys just having fun... doing their own version of wrestling." "I would suggest adding MORE awards to the year ends at Summer Explosion and suggest the following awards be included... Rookie of the Year, Thug of the Year (Brawler), Scientist of the Year (Technician), Kamikaze of the Year (High-Flyer/Luchador), Stable of the Year, Shocker of the Year (angles/swerves/turns), Most Improved Wrestler/Upcoming Superstar of the Year, Entrance of the Year (wrestler's), or any special one-time awards or whatever." "Also, add a Hall of Shame so we can laugh at the past! ;) Just kidding... I'd likely be on there, hehehe." [17] What did you think of the CountDown Show? "Awesome idea. Helped me understand some of the stuff that led up to the PPV." "Neat. Next time maybe have people giving their predictions (guys behind the I/W desk, crazy fans lining up outside the show)" "I would have preferred to see a little more highlight material, but other than that, it was a nice supplement to the PPV, to build heat the last few days." "'Twas cool! It set up the PPV nicely, sort of like a "real" fed would, that's pretty dang cool to me. Adds a lot to a fed and to the PPV in general, which it did. Hope to see these return at PPV time." ====================== SECTION 5: THE WEBSITE ====================== [18] What do you think of the IWF/WOW website? "Perfect to me. It's easy on the eyes and easier to read than even a regular website IMHO, due to the widescreen format." "MUCH BETTER than it used to be. I like it because it is easy to navigate and is constantly updated." "Make the middle frame bigger." "Cool & interactive. I like how the poll stuff is intergrated into MAYHEM & the PPVs" "It's great, now only if the Hall of Fame profiles would get up. ( ;" "I think it's nice. It has a nice design and is easy to navigate. Whoever made it should be commended." [19] How often to you visit the website? "Pretty frequently, but always when I know it's been updated" "At least once a week, but safe to bet twice a week just to look over an old card or look up a title reign factoid... I do that when bored.twice-three times a week." [20] What would you like to see added? "Pictures of the wrestlers to give everyone an idea of who the wrestler most resembles" "Hmm nothing i can think of from the top of my head... oh wait maybe a plug for my Rankings Central site!!!" "A better archive section, but I told you my idea for that." "I mentioned a "20 Questions" type of thing like UEW does. Some in and out of character interviews might be cool." "1) Get the Hall of Fame section done! ;) 2) Where'd the I/W Historian disappear to? Has the Historian disappeared into the annals of time as befitting his name? 3) Getting original ideas going here, how about a top 5 list of faces, and a top 5 list of heels? I think that would be a fantastic addition. Yes, it's a small one, but makes it seem ... better. 4) Another columnist, seriously. 5) Perhaps interviews with wrestlers ala transcripts seen on the net on REAL wrestling sites. Problem is, is finding someone who'd be willing to do interview... we could always take turns? Just an idea, but I think it'd be neat to pursue." "It might be nice to see some of the classic Mayhems and/or Friday Night Warfare's from a few years back on the site. Maybe feature a different one every week, assuming anyone has access to the old cards." "Updated Rankings" ========================== SECTION 6: FINAL QUESTIONS ========================== [21] Actually, this question just came up tonight. A few people said they would rather cards be sent out as an attachment, while others said they like it in parts. My question is, what does everyone think? All in one part as an attachment, or in seperate parts? Most people like the way they are now... which I like myself. Some people did take what I said wrong though. By attachment, I meant all in one big e-mail, like several other feds do. Of course, some people still didn't like the idea of a huge download. What I may do in the future is offer two mailing lists... one all in one e-mail, and one as several parts. Stay tuned... Comments from handlers... "I like seperate parts myself. I think it's much better, not one big letter that hurts the eyes. You can read one section, take a break, read the next onew. etc. Keep it in parts please!!" "If it's in attachments, I won't be able to read it. My computer has problems dling stuff. I was never able to read the rp shows when they were filed like that." "The separate parts make it easier to read, IMHO. I know that some people may have a problem with so many pieces of mail... but I don't mind. It makes a better read than a whole card. You can read the card in small portions" [22] Since Christmas Madness 2000, has the IWF/WOW improved, stayed the same, or gone down hill? Duh!! Of course, everyone said improved. [23] Any last comments? "Need to drop some dead weight and get some more good handlers. No egos though, just peeps looking to have fun and so forth. I think a few more quality additions would be nice because we definitely do need some OVER faces, and just really good solid OVER characters/wrestlers that can hit the main event here... gee, maybe I shoulda' stayed "face" instead of turning at WrestleFest! Hehehe. ;-)" Once again, thanks for all the replies!! In total, there were around 20-25 responces, and all the feedback is great. The EotW5 poll won't be as long, I promise, and hopefully the results will be out sooner. ;) That's it... later everyone! ______________________________________________ | Chris Jurkschat | | IWF/WOW co-President | | http://members.home.com/iwfwow/ | |----------------------------------------------| | ICQ 6353990 | AOL IWFWOWChris | IRC _ChrisJ_ | |----------------------------------------------| | Handler of "The Future" Chris Johnson | | WWO: 2-1-0 CCW: 0-0-0 CAREER: 15-9-2 | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
