There is a stage at one end with a large Golden Turnbuckle statuette beside the back left part of the stage. The statuette is of a ringpost with 3 turnbuckles on it, with the ropes jutting out from each side. The stage looks very similar to the one used by the WWF for the Slammies. It is surrounded by ropes on three sides, with a podium at the front, and a set of steps leading up to the stage. The IWF/WOW logo is on the front of the podium. In front of the stage is where the tables are set up. All of the IWF/WOW roster is in attendance, and almost all of them are in tuxedos.) Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome your host for tonight's festivities, Mr Anthony Edwards!!! (Edwards comes out from behind a curtain to the right of the stage. He is dressed in a black tuxedo, with a red bowtie and red cumberbund, and his dark blond hair is neatly styled. Edwards walks up behind the podium and grabs the microphone.) Anthony Edwards: Welcome everyone to the 1997 IWF/WOW GOLDEN TURNBUCKLES!!!! (Crowd cheers wildly) Anthony Edwards: The Summer Explosion weekend marks the one year anniversary of the IWF part of the IWF/WOW, and for those of us who have been here from the beginning, and those of us who have recently joined too, this is a special night. We will have our very first Hall of Fame Induction!!, as well as hand out 11 other awards. All of the IWF/WOW's stars are in attendance this evening, and we hope that they, as well as the fans joining us here, and at home, enjoy the evening. Now, every awards show begins with a song, and being the host, it has become _my_ job to get this baby rolling. Unfortunately, when I sing, I sound like Roseanne. So, instead, I'm going to rap. Ahem!!! (A basic rap beat begins) The AoD, is the 90 minute man, and that's why Heather's, his number one fan. (The camera shows Heather hiding her face, and the Syndicate table laughing) Derrick DaMann, he can be mean and vile but you wouldn't know it, when he flashes that Million Dollar Smile (The camera shows DaMann flashing that smile) The Prophet, he's, a two time champ and a famous holy man, never _caught_ with a tramp (yet) (The Prophet and Choir Master are shown looking rather unhappy with Edwards.) Stanson has a new manager, named Destiny Montana With a woman like _that_, who the Hell needs Nevada (Camera shows Nevada shooting Edwards a death stare, then Stanson and Montana standing and cheering Edwards on.) He preaches wrestling, his name's Robert d'Artois He gets more shots fired at him, than a guy named Patrick Roy (Camera shows d'Artois looking confused.) There's a guy named Crusher, and he's a freakin clown That's the main reason he spends so much time with his shoulders down. (Camera shows Crusher getting ready to stand up.) Before guys face Thranton, they drink a bottle of rye. That's so they don't feel the pain, of the Ultimate Drive-By. (Camera shows Thranton nodding his head in agreement.) America's Least Wanted, they're hated by the masses I think it's because, they're a couple of wise asses. (Camera shows ALW giving a "who us?" kind of look) Body Count, they are two huge guys that's why nobody tells them they smell too bad to attract even flies (Camera shows Body Count laugh, and the stand up. Edwards stops rapping) Guys, I was only kidding. You don't really smell, but I had to come up with something to rhyme with guys. (Body Count make their way to the stage, where Edwards is getting visibly nervous.) Guys, c'mon, it was a joke. I know you've got a sense of humour. (Barber and Thomas look at each other, then Barber puts his hand on Edwards' shoulder. Edwards cowers away, then Barber and Thomas start laughing. Thomas walks up to the podium.) Anthony Thomas: We're not really mad at him, but we were sick of that _terrible_ job of rapping. What about you guys? (The crowd cheers in approval) Thomas: Edwards, you may continue with the show. But PLEASE don't start rapping again. You may sing like Roseanne, but you also rap like Vanilla Ice. (Body Count return to their table, a few of the wrestlers shake their hands on the way back.) Anthony Edwards: Okay, I guess we'll go to the first award. To present the Golden Turnbuckle for Best Show, please welcome Derrick DaMann. ("Sad But True" begins to play in the background as a black tuxedo clad "Godd Among Menn" Derrick DaMann slowly strolls up to the podium) Derrick DaMann: Well, well, well..what award did they give me here? The Best TV Show??? This one's easy....the best show is any show with Derrick DaMann on it. (Derrick tilts his head and flashes the Million Dollar DaMann smile. Some of the crowd boo.) Derrick DaMann: The nominees for Best Show are....Monday Mayhem.......Friday Night WARFARE...and the Control Center. (Derrick holds the envelope up in the air up to the light and tries to see through it) Derrick DaMann: Damn....my pick was the No Action Zone. (Derrick rips open the envelope and reads the name printed) Derrick DaMann: The winner is.... The show that _I_ made great week after week. The show that was only worth watching when I made my weekly appearance. Robertson, Wright, Anderson...you can thank me later....MONDAY MAYHEM!!! In house Announcer: Accepting the Award will be announcer John Robertson. (John Robertson, wearing a tuxedo stands and walks up to the podium. he accepts the award from DaMann and shakes his hand.) John Robertson: On behalf of the staff of Mayhem, and the IWF/WOW head office, I'd like to thank the wrestlers for making Mayhem such an enjoyable show. I know the fans love to watch it, and I love to call the action. This award is for the wrestlers, because without them, there would be no show. Thank You. (Edwards steps back up to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Thanks John. Since we're on the subject of shows, we'll present the Award for best Pay-Per-View, and to present this award, welcome back John Robertson, along with Jack Anderson, and Rick Wright. (Robertson, Anderson, and Wright make their way up to the podium. Wright steps up to the mike, cutting off Anderson.) Rick Wright: I'll do the talking, since I'm the only announcer who has a clue. (Some of the crowd boo) Rick Wright: Shut up, you morons. The nominees for Best Pay-Per-View are... WrestleFest End of the World and The Independance Day Rumble. and the Golden Turnbuckle goes to... INDEPENDANCE DAY RUMBLE!! There's nobody to accept this award, so I'M gonna keep it, because if it weren't for my outstanding commentary, _all_ of these pay-per-views would suck. (Wright grabs the Golden Turnbuckle and walks off the stage. Anderson and Robertson follow, shaking their heads in disbelief. Anthony Edwards steps back up to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Moving right along, we go to the presentation of the Golden Turnbuckle for the Most Improved Wrestler. To present that award, here is AJ STANSON!!! (Breathe by The Prodigy starts to play as AJ "Black Ice" Stanson walks towards the podium. He is wearing a black tuxedo with a dark blue shirt under and a silver chain around his neck. He approaches the podium and takes out an enveloppe out of his inside pocket. He looks at the audience and smirks.) Stanson: Hey everyone, it's great to be here tonight. I'm here to present the award for the "Most Improved Wrestler". This is a great honor, because whoever wins this award not only gets lucky enough to stand on the same stage as me (wink and gun) but the winner also gets the glory of the title, and all that comes with it. No doubt that all of these three men have made a huge improvement and an enormous impact in the IWF/WOW! (rolls his eyes) From grudges, to joining stables, to winning titles, these guys have been through _alot_! There is a reason why these wrestlers were chosen for this category. All three, I have a tremendous amount of respect for. (stares down coldly Dan Watterson) And some even have enough respect for me that they interfere in my matches...(continues to stare at Watterson) We don't _all_ stand for the same things, but when it all comes down to it, not one of them would ever turn down a challenge thrown at them, and would give it everything they've got.....to in the end possibly be named the year's most improved wrestler...Here are the nominees: > DAN WATTERSON..... > CRUSHER..... > COOPER CONCRETE.... Stanson: Now of course I ain't rooting for anyone in perticular.....laughs from the crowd and Stanson gives them a mischievious smirk).....no seriously!! (laughs) Alright, alright...And the winner for MOST IMPROVED WRESTLER of the year goes to.... (Stanson opens the enveloppe...) ................ ................ ................ ................ Oh yeah, the North American Champion, The COOP man, keepin' it real! That's what it's all about! Here ya go big guy! (The crowd applauds as the members at The Power Alliance table stand up for an ovation for the IWF's Man With The Plan...Cooper Concrete is decked out in his tuxedo, but is still wearing his hardhat and sunglasses, and the North American title belt is around his waist. He gets a big hug and kiss from his manager Kelly James. She is wearing a knockout white sequin dress that shows alot of leg. Together Cooper and Kelly James approach the stage and receive the Golden Turnbuckle. Stanson meets Cooper Concrete half way on the stage, hands him his trophy, they exchange high fives and make the Power Alliance sign. Stanson returns to his seat and Concrete and Kelly james walk to the podium.) Cooper Concrete: Thank you ladies gentlemen for this prestigious honor. I entered this league as a mystery man, and some of you were quite SHOCKed to find out that I had come into this elite group of wrestling talent. I have been fortunate enough to gain strength both physically and mentally...with my great friends in Power Alliance, they garnered support. And I sure am lucky to have those 3 guys to watch over me. A mutual respect that doesn't go unnoticed. (Desert Scorpion, AJ Stanson, and Jeremy Thranton all give the peace sign towards Cooper.) I also want to thank the fans of the IWF/WOW...every night I'm out there giving it my all, their shouts of "COOP! COOP! COOP!" get my adrenalin pumping, and they too have helped me succeed..they aren't called the Construction Crew for nothin'. Team players-all of them. (Some fans begin a COOP! chant : ) But most of all, I need to thank the person who gave me vision, and gave me the advantage of seeing my true wrestling ability.. when that person came into my life, it was quite easy to get on my workgear and give 110% every time I stepped into the ring. Therefore, my improvement occurred with a lot of special nurturing from my manager, Kelly James...Kelly, I share this award with you, darling...Thank you for making me be the best that I can be. (The crowd applauds.....) Kelly James: Cooper, you too have given me insight and together I know there isn't anything we can't do in this awesome e-fed. We are a great team, you've got gold which proves it, ...AJ, we thank you for that opportunity.... (AJ Stanson gives the thumbs up to Kelly and Cooper.) ...everyday we better ourselves, just because we are together. Thank you for your support, Coop...you are a true champion. Cooper Concrete: And together Kelly, we will reach new goals and dreams...I'm so happy, you're along for this joyride. Thank you all... Kelly James: Thank you and until next time.... Cooper and KJ: PEACE!! (Cooper Concrete and Kelly James give the peace sign and then raise each other's ams in victory as Cooper hold his Golden Turnbuckle. The crowd applauds the North American Champion and his manager. They head back to the Power Allaince table to a round of high-fives. Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Congratulations Coop, the award is well deserved. >From Most Improved, we go to Most Underrated. To present that award, JEREMY "ROADKILL" THRANTON!! (Crowd gives a decent sized pop as Jeremy Thranton slowly walks to the platform of the event, clad in a suit, black tie and dark sunglasses. He gives a small smile and quiets the crowd with a swift motion of his hand, then continues.) Jeremy Thranton: Now I'm about as comfortable in these close as an elephant in a mouse hole, so I'm going to cut straight to the point with this award. This award is much like the people that go with it. It's under-appreciated. This award gives a little back to the people who should be ranked among the best but for whatever circumstances, simply aren't held in as high regard as the other top atheletes in the promotion. Maybe it's a personna that isn't liked, maybe they're being held back, but it's never for lack of skill, and this award goes out to that one person who is considered to be the guy who doesn't get the respect due to them. (Thranton pauses for a moment, then continues) The nominees are.... (Shows a clip of Martin Richards winning his 2/3 falls match at New Era by making Shawn Riser submit to the Texas Cloverleaf)..."Trouble Man" Martin Richards. (Thranton's face instantly changes into a hard, emotionless glare.) Thranton: Everyone here knows how I feel about this guy, so I'm going to keep this as short as possible. Richards is one of the toughest men in the sport and goes out there every night and works himself to the bone, and I should know better than anyone, but somehow, the spotlight of this federation rarely seems to fall on him, targetting the more charismatic members of his fellow stables in DaMann and the Prophet. This man isn't about charisma, he's all business, but the fact remains, HE'S GOT NOTHING on me, and when the time comes, that lesson is going to driven into his skull like a jackhammer. (Shows a clip of Christopher Stonebreaker nailing his Rockslide Suplex and pinning the Desert Scorpion to win the IWF/WoW Intercontinental Title) Christopher Stonebreaker.... Thranton: Christopher Stonebreaker has been a dark horse since he quietly arrived in the IWF/WoW some time ago, at the same time creating a very impressive won/loss record for himself, and only recently, earning himself the honor of the federation's second highest ranked title with a tainted win over the Desert Scorpion. He's kept quiet, preferring to speak his mind in the ring, which he does with remarkable skill, and as such, has often been overlooked. His recent decision to join the Aristocracy, is in my opinion, not a good career decision, as he will be slowed down by the neverending mouth and quickly ending talent of Bobby d'Artois, who you should know ain't one of my favorite people. (Shows a clip of Doug Sullivan nailing the Drophshot DDT to Dark Vanity and pinning him to win the IWF/WoW US National Title) ...."Downtown" Doug Sullivan.... Sullivan, the newest member of the Inner Circle, hasn't been exactly blessed with the quiet mouth similar to the other two nominees to this award. Sullivan, has however, gone through most of his competition to this date with his patented finisher, the Dropshot DDT, even earning himself the US National belt in a triple threat match not long ago. Sullivan might not be able to back up his big mouth and enormous ego on most occasions, but none can doubt his in ring ability or toughness. Sullivan has been yet another victim of underestimation in this federation despite his title victory. Thranton: Now it's time to present the winner of this award, the man selected as the person most mislooked in this federation of many mislooked atheletes. And the winner is.... (Thranton pauses for a moment, and opens the envelope, looks at the winner, then repeats....) "DOWNTOWN" DOUG SULLIVAN. (Crowd boos as Sullivan ambles up to the podium, wearing a tuxedo for probably the first time in his life, to accept his Golden Turnbuckle, with an "I told you so" grin on his face and accepts the award from Thranton) Thranton: Can't say I've followed your exploits to give a speech on your deservingness of this award, but it's yours, and I guess I can't do anything about that. Congratulations...but keep in mind, PA runs this federation whether or not you realize it, and _that_ is something _you_ can't do anything about. (Thranton makes the sign of the Ultimate Drive By, then slowly leaves the podium and walks back to his seat to a large pop) DDS: (under his breath) Hmmm, the Golden Turbuckle Winning Doug Sullivan? Naah, I'll stick to Downtown... I suppose that I should thank some people here. First of all, I'd like to thank my Inner Circle brothers: Marty, Derrick, Prophet, Octane, and Joe, for being smart and accepting me into the fold. Together, I think that we set a good example for all of the nation's youth out there, showing that if you team up on the little guy and cheat like hell, you too can rise to the top. I'd also like to thank all of my opponents in the IWF/WOW, that long trail of broken bodies who'd thought I'd be easy pickings, that pile of humanity who thought that they'd be the one to knock me off my perch. Were it not for their stupidity-slash-guillibilty, I would not be here today. Finally, I hav to thank the most important person in my life...me. For, truly, if it was not for my greatness, I would not be here today to accept this award. And if you don't like it...tough, 'cause I'm here to stay! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sullivan leaves to chorus of boos, and Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Stay with us, we'll be right back. (Camera fades out to a commercial for SUMMER EXPLOSION) (flashy computer graphics display the card.) ORDER IT NOW, ONLY ON PAY-PER-VIEW!!! (The screen fades back in to Anthony Edwards at the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Next is the Hall of Fame Induction. Here tonight, making his first appearance on television, to induct our singles, and tag team inductees, is IWF/WOW Vice President Wade Thompson. (There is polite applause as a young man in a black tuxedo walks up to the podium.) Wade Thompson: Thank you Anthony. I'm on stage tonight because your two presidents have all of the sudden become "camera shy". I guess they figured I do most of the work anyway, why not this too? (Thompson smiles and some of the wrestlers smirk.) Wade Thompson: Tonight the IWF/WOW will induct one singles wrestler and one tag team into our new Hall of Fame. Tonights inductees are very deserving, however they are also not here this evening. >From the singles ranks, the fans have chosen to induct the very first IWF World Champion, Pyro, into the Hall of Fame. (Large pop from the crowd.) His accomplishments in the early days of the IWF, helped build this organization from the ground up. Pyro's strength, and athletic ability made for great matches, and provided the fans with the very best in wrestling talent. Pyro became largely inactive after losing the IWF World Title to the Down Under Demon, but he will forever be remembered by the fans of the IWF, and now the IWF/WOW. (Applause from the crowd.) >From the tag team ranks, we induct the team of Sex Machine Slade, and "Titan" Peter Bell. Slade and Bell entered the IWF when the tag ranks were small, and not exactly full of talent. It was Slade and Bell, who not only improved the level of tag team competition, but also attracted better teams to enter the IWF and challenge this legendary tag team. Like Pyro, Slade and Bell became largely inactive following their World Tag Title loss to Body Count at The Rumble Down Under. Tonight we honour their time in the IWF, by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. (Crowd politely applauds. Thompson shakes hands with Edwards and leaves the stage. Edwards walks up to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: The next award to be presented is for Best Manager. To present this award, here's "THE BULLET" RICKY REVOLUTION, and "SEXY" SALLY MCCLANE!!!! ["Natural One" by Folk Implosion plays through the small PA system as out walks, "The Bullet" Ricky Revolution and "SEXY" Sally McClane. Ricky has one a pair of baggy, black, denim Silvertabs, with a pair of black Etnies on his feet, and a black, collarless, button up, long sleeve shirt that almost resembles something a priest would wear, while on his face set a pair of small, aerodynamic shades. And Sally wears a tight, black one piece skirt, that is held up by only two small straps, and has three lines going around her chest, which are red, yellow, and green. As she too, wears matching shades. The two walk up to the podium as Ricky leans down, and begins speaking with no emotion what so ever] "The Bullet" Ricky Revolution: The award for best manager, is a great honor....[lets out a disgusted sigh]...Hold the card up you idiot. [the people in attendance kind of chuckle a bit as he smirks and looks at all of them] The award for best manager, blah blah blah, is a great honor to whoever receives it...[stops and looks around disgustedly]...Ya know what? IF you're not gonna hold that damn card up, I'm gonna do this, MY way. Okay? RR: So if I may continue...The award for best manager is a joke. And that's why Sally hasn't been nominated. [a few gasps from some in attendance as a few others chuckle] I for one, see no point in having the award if the, obviously, greatest manager we have isn't being nominated. And that manager is, of course, Sally. "SEXY" Sally McClane: [leans down to the microphone] And the 3, less deserving, nominees are...Nevada. RR: Nevada? How in the...? She gets nominated but you don't? "SEXY" Sal: [shrugs] Manager of the IWF/WOW World Heavyweight Champion...Heather. RR: [lets out another sigh] I see no point in continuing on. Let's just give the award to Sally. "SEXY" Sal: And...Paul Evans. RR: He's okay, but does he have legs like these? [grabs Sally's leg and pulls it up into the air as she grabs the podium for balance] I don't think so. "SEXY" Sal: [regains her balance after Ricky releases her leg, and grabs an envelope] And the LOSER is......Nevada .......therfore the winner and truly BEST manager here in the IWF/WOW is _ME_, only I don't want this fake, copper award, honey, so you can have it. [she knocks the award off the podium and to the floor as her and Ricky exit off the stage] (Song 2 by Blur starts to play as Nevada gets up. She turns to Derrick DaMann and gives him a big kiss. She makes her way to the podium, wearing a long long black and gold silk dress with thin straps. Her long brown hair is all in waves and falls on her shoulders. She walks up the stairs and picks up the award....on the ground....) Nevada: You know Sally, sweety if I didn't know better, I'd say that was jeallousy I smelled. Uh-huh!! Anyhow, this award means alot to me, and of course if it wouldn't have been for the wake up call on the part of Derrick DaMann, I wouldn't be up here tonight! There is no doubt that when you are on the losers side (turns and looks at the Power Alliance) there ain't much of a chance at winning this award. But I guess people _do_ know what they are talking about, because they chose _ME_....Only _the_ best thing walking on God's green earth! I'd like to thank....no wait......I have no one to thank because I did this all by myself! All the credit goes to me, and me only! And Sally....girlie those legs, next to mine, can't even be called legs legally! I am the year's best manager and at Summer Explosion, I'll show all of you exactly why the title goes to me!! INNER CIRCLE forever, I make them look good and they....winners.....make me look even better! (Song 2 plays again as Nevada looks towards Derrick DaMann and blows him a kiss as she walks off the stage. Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: You know, now that I think of it... That's what we're missing. A contest for the ladies. Next year, we need a bikini contest. Or better yet, a WET T-SHIRT contest. (The women in the audience boo, while the guys cheer like crazy) Anyways, the next award to be presented is for Best Heel. Here to present the Golden Turnbuckle, is "STRIKING" SHANE SANDERS!!! (The crowd boos as Sanders walks onto the stage, and to the podium.) Shane Sanders - Well, it looks like, the best damn heel in the IWF/WOW is handing out the best heel award. All I have to say is, that its about time I started to get some respect around here. Anyways, here are the nominees for IWF/WOW Best Heel, even though everyone knows it is me! Derrick DaMann Prophet "The Bullet" Ricky Revolution And the Winner is...... (Sanders opens the Envelope) DERRICK DAMANN!! ("Sad But True" begins to blast as Derrick DaMann slowly strolls up to the podium to accept his award...flashing his Million Dollar DaMann smile for all to see) Derrick DaMann- I accept this award on behalf of ME. (pauses for a second) Derrick DaMann- I also accept on behalf of the Inner Circle...the best bunch of friends anybody could ever have. Prophet, Marty, Doug, Oc, Joe...you know that it's you guys who keep me here. (pauses for another second) Derrick DaMann- I also accept this award on behalf of my fans..the tried and true DaMarks out there who know real talent when they see it and real integrity out there. C'mon..who else would yell "SHOOT" on command!?!? (pauses for another second) Derrick DaMann- I would also like to thank Chris Jurkschat for trying to book other wrestlers to try to become "Top Heel" in IWF/WOW who basically just don't have what I have and are very well aware of it. Chris, you try to keep me down by pushing other wrestlers before me...but in the end, they fade away and I'm the one as big as that Matchbox 20 song. (pauses again) Derrick DaMann- And I'd also like to thank the little pansy faces out there who have unintentionally made me as great as I am today. C'mon..we all know that without faces, you can't have heels. And without little pathetic faces who just take what you give them and don't have the spine to do anything about it...you wouldn't have top heels like me. Yes, I'm thanking you...Jeremy Thranton, Cooper Concrete, Dark Vanity, Shawn Riser, A.J. Stanson...without you guys and your sorry "I'm such a good person" sappy attitude..it wouldn't be so much fun torturing you guys, now would it? (pauses again) Derrick DaMann- Now in closing, I hope we can all congregate here next year again and congratulate me winning my SECOND best heel award in a row...because it's obvious that there isn't anyone better at being hated than me. I guess I'm just the best in the game and loving it! Inner Circle forever. ("Sad But True" begins to play again as Derrick takes the trophy, flashes a Million Dollar DaMann smile, and leaves the podium. Anthony Edwards walks back to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: You're right Derrick, NOBODY is hated as much as you. But as for next year... I think I know someone who may challenge you for that title. The next award is for Best _Face_. Here to present the award is DESERT SCORPION!!!! (Desert Scorpion walks to the podium, to a huge pop.) Desert Scorpion: (Quiets the pop from the fans.) Alright, the next award on the agenda tonight will be presented, obviously, by none other than me, the Desert Scorpion!!! (Another pop from the crowd.) Desert Scorpion: Thank you. Now, onto the award, which in my mind, has to be one of the more prestigious awards here at "The Golden Turnbuckles", and that is none other than the award for Best Face. Sad to say, there are but a few of us faces left in the sport, where the win-at-all costs, get-ahead-by-any-means credo seems to taken things over. However, there are some, like myself, who still hold in high regard the seemingly outdated concepts such as honor, fairness, as well as respect for the fans, like all of you out there! (Big pop from the crowd.) Desert Scorpion: Three of these men have been nominated to win the Best Face in IWF/WOW, and any could win. And the nominees are..... A.J. "Black Ice" Stanson!!! (HUGE crowd pop.) What can I say about this man that hasn't been said before? He's a true competitor. Honest, fair, but still one of, if not THE elite wrestler in IWF/WOW today. As well as a true friend. A.J., regardless of what is in the envelope, you are a winner in my mind. Christopher Stonebreaker!!!! (There is a somewhat mixed reaction from the crowd.) Well, now. I'd have to agree with you people out there. While the man does hold high the values I agree with, his recent alignment with such dregs as Robert d'Artois have affected my, and I'm sure many others' opinions of him. Nevertheless, he is a nominee for Best Face. Cooper Concrete!!! (Another HUGE pop.) Now here we have a true face. Firm in his beliefs until the end, and you couldn't ask for a more loyal companion, through thick or thin. I'm glad _I_ wasn't the one who had to pick the winner. Between Coop and A.J.? They are both winners, as well as counted among my closest friends. Well, on to the part we've all be waiting for..... (The Scorpion picks up an envelope.) Desert Scorpion: And the winner...the Best Face in IWF/WOW is................. A.J. Stanson!!!!!!! (HUGE pop from the crowd as the Scorpion reads the name.) Desert Scorpion: Well, yet another honor for Stanson to add to his already illustrious career. And I couldn't agree more with the decision. There's really nothing to say that hasn't been said about this man. He's a complete, total champion in every sense of the word, regardless of what others may say. And he has been vindicated once again by receiving this award. A.J., my proverbial hat goes off to you. (Dead Souls by Nine Inch Nails starts to play. AJ "Black Ice" Stanson shakes his head and makes his way to the podium. He is dressed in his black tuxedo and dark blue shirt under. He high fives Desert Scorpion and Scorpion hands him the trophy. AJ looks at the crowd, runs his hand through his hair and and looks at the trophy....) Stanson: Best Face? Best Face? Oh yeah, I like that....I like that alot! (fans scream) You know the term "best face" can mean different things to different people! It's a matter of how you look at it and how you take it! This is super! To some, best face can mean "babyface" or "good guy" or whatever you wanna call it.....and then to some it can mean "a guy with goal", or a "man that knows what he wants".....but to me, it's just plain and simply a word! A term that has been mis-used throughout the years. Stanson: Yeah I may be "a face" but you gotta admit, I make a hell of a job! (cheers) For everyone out there that knows me, will know damn well that when I get in that ring, face or not, I'm in there to win, to battle and to fight my ass off until I get the final word! To me that's what "best face" is all about! Stanson: I wanna thank of course my three best friends in the whole world; Jeremy, Cooper, Scorpion....of course the beautiful Kelly and Destiny Montana for showing me that there is a lot more after Nevada. (winks at Destiny Montana) And I wanna thank all you guys up there (points to the fans section, cheers from there) But most of all myself for staying with my goals and believing in them no matter who or what blocks my way! Stanson: Face? Yeah it can mean many things, and at Summer Explosion Derrick DaMann, you'll realize exactly how good a face can be at running your shoulders to the mat! You know what Derrick? I here faces are pretty good at ending streaks? (laughs) I don't know....I guess we'll just have to wait and see.....(smirks) I think so...what do you think? Stanson: This year was best face...what is next to come? Every other year os full of surprises and I'm the man for them! Looking forward to another great year! PA for life baby! (makes the Power Alliance sign to his stable mates) (Dead Souls starts to play again as AJ Stanson picks up his trophy and makes his way off stage. Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Stay tuned, we'll be right back. (Camera fades out to a commercial for SUMMER EXPLOSION) (flashy computer graphics display the card.) ORDER IT NOW, ONLY ON PAY-PER-VIEW!!! (Camera fades back to Anthony Edwards at the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Our next presenter is a member of the Syndicate, who's sporting a change in attitude. Here to present the award for Match of the Year, here's "NO WORRIES" ROB MAGNUM!!!! ["No Worries" Rob Magnum walks up to the podium. He is wearing a sleeveless white "Southern Comfort" t-shirt along with a pair of jeans. He has on a backwards bandana holding back his long brown hair along with a pair of Oakley shades MIB style. He approaches the podium and leans against it holding an envelope in his hand] Rob Magnum> Well, I was asked here tonight to deliver this damn award. The award for best Match of the Year. Now in my eyes the best match of the year can be narrowed down by simply watching my matches and realizing that all of _them_ are the best. As for the ones they handed me. They're _OK_ but nothing more. Fact remains I could kick the crap out of all these competitors. But before we get started I've got something to address. Alot of people are counting me out of the Syndicate because I kicked Steve Morrison's ass out of the IWF/WOW. Well, boo hoo hoo, I guess you'll all be sad to hear that I'm still in the Syndicate so shove it. Me and AoD are getting along now better than ever. Same goes with the rest of them. But Steve Morrison is no more. Thank me for that later. Now I'll get to this damn award. [Magnum looks down at a sheet in front of him] First up out of the three finalists for Match of the Year was Prophet/DaMann vs. Thranton/Stanson at New Era. [As if bored] Wow, what a match that was. [Magnum snickers muttering under his breathe "yeah right"] That _long_ _hard_ battle ended with Prophet scoring the pin on AJ Stanson. Why? Because Stanson sucks. He can't even keep a girl. By the way....... [Magnum points off camera to a camera man] You can stop holding up those cue cards because I ain't using them. I'll give my own god damn oppinion on these matches. Even though I'm gonna say they all suck I'm still gonna give my opinion so shut up. Back to the awards. Next up was the Independance Day Rumble. My personal pick for match of the year because _I_ was in it and my good friend AoD won the match. Again, congrats brother. [Magnum points to AoD who points back] By the way, I _guarantee_ a victory from AoD at Summer Explosion. The Prophet's in for more than one surprise I guarantee that. Now moving on to the last match. DaMann/Stanson vs. West/Grant from Rumble Down Under. Ok, I'm not gonna say a damn thing about this match. I wasn't around so I don't know jack about it and I refuse to read those cue cards. I'm not gonna make up any crap. This match _obviously_ blew because......well let's look. West and Grant ain't exactly top of the line. Meanwhile, DaMann and Stanson, well, they ain't top of the line either but they're better than the other two freaks. Well, I'm sick of this so I'm just gonna announce the winner. The winner is......... [Magnum opens up the envelope] The Independance Day Rumble. In house Announcer: To accept the award for Match of the Year, is the man who won the match, The Angel of Death. (The camera moves to the Syndicate's table where the AoD stands and begins to walk to the stage. The AoD is _not_ wearing his mask. He is only wearing a pair of Oakley M-Frames to hide his face. The AoD has no facial hair, and has crew cut blond hair. He is wearing a black tuxedo. AoD walks onto the stage and shakes Magnums hand, and accepts the award.) AoD: They asked me to accept this award on behalf of all 40 wrestlers who were in the match, because I won it, and I was the only guy who was in the ring the whole time. A thank you to Chris, who put the Rumble together. You did a great job on this match, and it is a match that definately deserves to be recognized as the best match of the year. There are those who still believe this match isn't over, and that it'll finally end Sunday night. To those of you I say this... The result will be the same, with my hand raised in victory. (The AoD leaves the podium to a huge pop [Canadians are very popular in Canada you know :)] and Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: The next award to be presented will go to the Rookie of the Year. Here to present the Golden Turnbuckle is my colleague, TODD HENDRIX!!! (Hendrix walks to the podium in a black tuxedo) Todd Hendrix: The Golden Turnbuckle for Rookie of the Year, goes to the newcomer who has made the greatest impact upon his arrival to the IWF/WOW. The nominees for Rookie of the Year are: "The Bullet" Ricky Revolution Shawn Riser Rob Magnum All three have made a tremendous impact on the IWF/WOW, but the man the wrestlers felt made the most impact is... (Opens the Envelope) "THE BULLET" RICKY REVOLUTION!!! ["Natural One" by Folk Implosion begins to play as Ricky stands up, wearing the same attire he had on, when he made his presentation. He walks onto the stage and takes his award, then turns to the podium and leans down to the microphone as a sly grin appears on his face] "The Bullet" Ricky Revolution: Well, this would be an honor, if I weren't so above, this award. I'd like to start off by of course, thanking myself. As well as Sally, Sera, Elijah, and everyone else in The Revolution. I wouldn't be where I am today without you guys. Anyway, this award really doesn't mean much. It just poses a problem, since now I've got to find more room in my trophy room, and believe me there isn't much left. Anyway, thanks for nothing everyone. And Sally, I love ya babe! [he blows a kiss toward the camera as he turns and walks off the stage] (Edwards returns to the podium) AE: And, now...allow me to present our next presenter. He's been in this federation, almost from the beginning and some say that WoW wouldn't be where it was today without his presence. Frankly, I think I'd be glad to find out if we could live without him. Anyways, his credentials speak for themselves, as he is a two-time World Champion and he has been in the main event of the last four IWF/WoW Pay-Per-Views. He is the self-proclaimed Spiritual Leader of the IWF/WoW...he is the Prophet! (The prophet enters, accompanied by the Choir, the Choir-Master and Jedah The Damned. The Prophet walks up to the microphone while the rest hang back. The Prophet holds in his hands the envelope with the winner's names.) Prophet: Brothers and Sisters, what a glorious night it is tonight! The stars are out and about and yours truly, the Spiritual Leader of the IWF/WoW has been granted the duty of presenting the award to the tag-team voted to be the best in this great federation...which, by the way, has been decided by our peers. So, that makes it a little more special, doesn't it? Choir: Amen! Prophet: Thank you! Anyways, there are three nominees for this prestegious award, although we already know who the winners are, don't we? Choir: Amen! Prophet: Exactly! I mean, we can look at the list and who do we see? Two teams that are former World Champion and the current World Champions...well, that evens things up a little bit, I guess. But, then we look at the teams themselves. First, there's Body Count... (Applause from the crowd.) Prophet: Ahh...I see that Body Count have brought their parents tonight...I'm so sorry that Mom and Dad have to watch these two lose...again! It was sad enough that these guys held the World tag belts for as long as they did, only to surrender them to the proper World Champions (I'll get to them in a minute.) But, the fact that they associate with Brother A.o.Duh. makes them double losers and as they won't win this award, all I can say is three strikes and yer out! Choir: Amen! Prophet: Then there's the other losing part of this equation...Sudden Death! (Boos from the crowd.) Prophet: Well, booing for these guys isn't a stretch, is it? The only reason why these guys are the current World Champions is that they cheated and connived their way to the top! Rest assured, when they grow a spine and get around to defending against Brothers Kidd and Octane, we will see a change in the World Title scene! Choir: Amen! Prophet: And, speaking of Brothers Kidd and Octane...America's Least Wanted are the third nominees for this award and... (More boos from the audience.) Prophet: Well, well, well...I though you people had better taste than that! They are the only true tag champions of this federation, they have represented this federation as they travelled abroad and all they've ever asked for was a fair shake and a chance to regain what was stolen from them! Choir: Amen! Prophet: Granted, they are members of the greatest force in wrestling, but don't think for one minute that makes me the least little bit biased towards them! Oh no, Brothers and Sisters, not at all! But, it is a pleasure for me to give this award to the greatest tag-team in the IWF/WoW, as voted by you...Brothers and Sisters, allow me to introduce to you... (Anthony Edwards approaches the podium.) AE: Prophet, open the envelope. Prophet: But, I already know who the winners are...AND, the Winners are... AE: Prophet, open the envelope! Prophet: I know the winners...I peeked inside before we came on...AND, the Winners are... AE: PROPHET! Open the envelope! Prophet: I have it on very good authority from the accounting firm of Dewey, Cheatum and Howe...they're Brother Derrick's personal accounting firm, they counted the votes AND they told me that the winners are... AE: PROPHET!!! OPEN THE ENVELOPE!!! Prophet: Brother Anthony...you don't have to yell, I'm just trying to save a few minutes of air-time. You don't have to be so pushy, really! (Prophet opens the envelope and glares at Anthony Edwards.) Prophet: (still looking at Anthony Edwards) AND, the Winners are... (Prophet looks at the envelope...looks again at the envelope and calls backstage "Is this right?" The Prophet pauses, as though listening to someone, then shakes his head and drops the envelope on the podium. As the Prophet leads his entourage backstage, Anthony Edwards picks up the envelope. Anthony Edwards: The Winners of Tag-team of the Year are... BODY COUNT!!! (Body Count's in the House by Body Count plays and Thomas and Barber stand up. Both are wearing black tuxedos with the arms torn off. Thomas has his long blond hair tied in a pony tail. They shake hands with The Syndicate and then head for the stage. They walk up to the podium and accept their Golden Turnbuckles from Edwards, and then wait for the crowd noise to die down.) Anthony Thomas: Thank You all for the welcome. CANADA RULES!!!!! (The crowd goes nuts again.) Thomas: First and foremost, I'd like to thank my partner. Big man, you truly are one half of the best tag team in the world today. Al Barber: Thanks buddy. You ain't so bad yourself. We'd also like to thank our two best friends in the world The AoD and Heather. Without you two, we wouldn't be here, and we wouldn't be having the ime of our lives. Thomas: A big thanks to the rest of the Syndicate, it's great working with you guys. Barber: And on an out of character note, thank you to the IWF/WOW. Chris, Chad, you guys do a great job. To all the people we compete against, we thank you as well. We've enjoyed our time here, and we look forward to the next year. Thomas: Back in character, I'd just like to say to Sudden Death and ALW... Now that we've been recognized by our peers as the Best Tag Team in the World, we're coming to reclaim the belts we never lost. (Body Count's in the House starts back up, and Body Count return to their seats. Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: It's time to present the final Golden Turnbuckle, and it goes to the Wrestler of the Year. Here to present this distinguished award, is the IWF/WOW WORLD CHAMPION, THE ANGEL OF DEATH, NAD HIS WIFE AND MANAGER, HEATHER!!!! (Hell's Bells by AC/DC plays and the crowd ERUPTS. Chants of AOD!! AOD!! start up as The AoD and Heather, who is wearing a STUNNING white dress walk up to the podium.) AoD: Thank You Halifax!!! (The crowd goes wild again) AoD: The award for wrestler of the year, is one voted on by our peers. The nominees for Wrestler of the Year are truly among the very best in all of e-wrestling. However, one very important name was left off the ballot... Mine!! (The crowd boos) AoD: Now, now, no need to get upset. I have a 15 pound gold belt in the hotel safe, that I'll take over this statuette any day :) Crowd: AOD!! AOD!! AOD!! AoD: Anyways, the nominees for Wrestler of the Year are: AJ Stanson. (Crowd cheers) Now me and AJ have never seen eye to eye, but you have to give him credit, there aren't many who can claim to be better. Derrick DaMann. (Crowd boos) DaMann... He's good, I'll admit that. His vaunted streak of not being pinned or submitting is impressive. But DaMann, just remember who made you change your wording from "Undefeated" to "not pinned or submitted" :) Crowd: AOD!! AOD!! AOD!! AoD: Finally, there's The Prophet. Crowd: PROPHET SUCKS!! PROPHET SUCKS!! PROPHET SUCKS!! AoD: Yeah, I feel the same way, but you have to give him his due. The man is, after all, a two time World Champion. Heather, you want to do the honours? Heather: Sure. (opens the envelope) And the Wrestler of the Year is... . . . . . . . . . . . . . DERRICK DAMANN!!!!! (AoD and Heather move to the back of the stage as "Sad But True" begins to blast as Derrick DaMann slowly strolls up to the podium to accept his award...flashing his Million Dollar DaMann smile for all to see...once again) Derrick DaMann- You know, I can walk this route from my seat to this podium blindfolded by now. (Derrick pauses a second) Derrick DaMann- Well, I basically got all my in-character stuff out during my acceptance of the Best Heel award..so I guess there isn't much left for me to do but shoot a bit for now. (Derrick pauses a second...takes out a bunch of index cards, rips them up, and throws them on the ground below) Derrick DaMann- First off....I want to thank Chad Ishikawa. You gave me my big break. You gave me the opportunity to turn from a really crappy rp'er into a less crappy one. I really appreciated how you let me and the IC do whatever we wanted back in WOW. It was really nice considering how other presidents put words into my mouth, forced me into feuds, and screwjobbed me because I wasn't a writer or anything of the like. You gave me the chance to shine and I have the character I have now because of you. Even now, it is nice to know that there is somebody looking out for us when it comes to booking matters. Please don't go....it couldn't be the same....it wouldn't be as much fun. (pauses again) Derrick DaMann- I want to thank my other IC handlers. Moe...it's been us since the very beginning. Only for you would I give up a chance to chase the World title. We all know the four words that changed the world and it still holds true. Inner Circle forever! The one thing we still need to do though...we've been in 3 feds together..and we still haven't faced one on one! Marty, the only person I AM LEGITIMATELY SCARED TO FEUD AGAINST! You freaked me out when you came to WOW looking for my blood. I just had to bring you in to the IC! Even to this day, I'm still trying to get the "horror" level that you get in your rp's. Chad, what the hell..I've thanked you once already :) Joe, the new guy....you and Marty were the only reason I ever read NICW flashes. Not only am I thanking you for IWF/WOW..but also for UEW. You have helped me out of too many a jam to count and I really appreciate it. I'll say it again...it's you guys who keep me here in IWF/WOW. (pauses again) Derrick DaMann- I also want to thank Chris Jurkschat for giving me my big break in IWF..and taking a chance on an unproved secondary champion in another fed. I really appreciated the push you gave me when I first came in...the main event of Rumble Down Under, the chance to be in a top line feud for the first time, my first ever World title shot, my first ever World title reign. I have you to thank for all that. (pauses again) Derrick DaMann- I'd also like to thank all the people I've worked WITH, and AGAINST in the last year in both IWF and WOW who helped me win this award tonight. It's not an award for me...it's for you guys as well. Where do I start? I'm really sorry if I forget someone....Derek, Wade, Shawn, Mike, Mark S, Mark R., Chris F., Kyle, Phill, Ray, Roy, Matt, Brendan, Dave, and everybody else whose real names I don't know but enjoyed feuding with you anyway. EXTRA EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS out to F.C. You know how much you rule. You need anything anytime, just yell! It's been an absolute pleasure feuding with you all these months! You let me do an angle that I've always wanted to do and I will always appreciate it. This award is half yours too!!! And in closing....there's one person out there in IWF/WOW land I can't feud with. In fact, it's someone who tried to take this all away from me with his pathetic little lies and deceptions. You almost made me quit all this. Chris is the only thing saving you from me and you better be damn thankful of that. I understand that you are scared to death to feud against because "I'm such a horrible person to work with".....you tell that to the people I've worked with in IWF/WOW without a problem at all. You tell that to my e-fed. You are easily the most pathetic little creature to ever use a keyboard. I hope that one of these days, you grow a spine and own up to what you did...and not need a fedhead to protect you from your consequences. Anybody that knows me knows that I never get angry at anything. You, my friend, made me livid...livid enough to almost quit e-wrestling. This award...and especially my other award for BEST HEEL, an award that you will never get as long as I'm around, are partly for you as well. I hope you enjoy the world you created, big man. It's a world where I was voted the best wrestler of the year...and you have no idea how shocked and appreciative I was of everybody who voted for me. I can't thank everyone enough. I didn't think I deserved it...but enough people thought so that they voted for me. I thank everyone who voted for me and helped me make Derrick DaMann a fun character to roleplay for. This award is for all of IWF/WOW...it's you guys who earned it. All of you but one. Thanks again...to all of you but that one, you don't know how much I appreciate this from the bottom of my heart. You make this fun again. I thank you all. (The crowd stands and gives a standing ovation. DaMann walks back to his table, and Anthony Edwards returns to the podium.) Anthony Edwards: Congratulations to Derrick DaMann, for a VERY well deserved award as Wrestler of the Year. On that note, it's time to end the first ever IWF/WOW Golden Turnbuckles. Good night, and we'll see you all at SUMMER EXPLOSION. (The camera fades to black, and the credits roll.) CREDITS: Thank you to everyone who helped put this thing together: Jay, Moe, Jason, Chris F, Kyle, F.C., Joe, Derek, Jerry, Jon, Chris J, and Chad who came up with the name "Golden Turnbuckles"
