Hi everyone, Finally got around to putting together all the poll results for End of the World 5... In case any of you are interested in reading them, here they are. =) Enjoy.. [1] Did you read the whole card? Skim it? Read only a part of it? If only a part, which parts? Most everyone said they read the whole card, which is very cool, since I thought it was well done. A few comments from the handlers... "Read/skim...more like browse (Like I read what's said, and skim the actions" "As always, I read the whole card." "Whole card...it'd be kind of a waste not to." "I read through the whole thing. I just read the parts I'm less interested in faster. ( ;" "Read the whole fucking thing. :)" [2] On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and 1 horrible, rate End of the World. Overall, a good rating for the card, I thought. The highest score was a 9, while the lowest was a 7. The average rating was a 7.8. Not bad... I thought it was a good card overall, although the buildup could have been much better for most of the matches. [3] What were the best and worst matches, both angle and writing wise? Comments from handlers... "The matches were very well written, as I already said. Even the ones that didn't have much behind them in terms of angles or heat were pretty exciting. The tag match, Stairway to Hell, and the main event were all well done. Angle wise, I think the best were obviously the main event and Arcola/Rock. There were a few matches - the NA title match, the tag match (I'm just not a big fan of tag wrestling, so I'm probably biased), and Scorpion/Fusion that really didn't have much heat going into the PPV." "I think Derek is an excellent matchwriter, hats off to the effort he put in results; but I thought the blood & guts angle w/ Rock & Arcola was too much like Celebrity Deathmatch; the I/W wasn't always supposed to have the "extreme" reputation, but I guess times have changed." "I was dying to see the Trifecta break up in the middle of the match, but the swerve at the end was just as good. In other words, my favorite angle. And on another note, I was pleased with how Chris Shannon handled his good-bye. It was written so that it wasn't bugging you as you were trying to enjoy the PPV. As for me and a few others that knew the real story behind Chris though, it was a bit harder. Looking back on my Angle w/ Johnston/Hightower, it was very Disney fairy-taleish. The bad guy is defeated and he just disappears, never heard from again. RRJ is the hero and he slays the villain to free Hightower, trapped in the clutches of the bad guy's power...Except RRJ and Hightower don't ride off in a carriage together, and there wasn't any smart-alecky animal sidekick voiced by some out-of-work actor from the '80s." "Best Matches writing wise were the Stairway to Hell and War for Territory matches, though I have some issues with both. Angle wise, I'd say the same matches, plus the Main Event." "The best matches would have to be the North American Title match and Rock/Arcola. They had a lot of heat and some great writing, too. The worst match would have to be the tag match... and that was still a good match. It just lacked any real drama. That's mainly because the tag division is fairly new in a sense. It's not the fault of your booking or the handlers' participation." [4] Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? More comments from handlers... "If anything, I think Desert Scorpion deserved a clean win over Fusion...I think screwjob finishes should be limited to the weekly events as much as possible, PPV matches should have "closure" to them, IMO. " "Actually, I agreed with the whole card." "Not really. You're the booker. Not really going to argue your decisions unless it's just something I don't completely agree with." "Pretty much everything went down the way I thought it would. I actually thought Travers and Prophet would pick up a clean win (no offense to Thranton), but the finish was still cool anyway" [5] What was the biggest shocker, if any, of the event? "The brutality of the War for Territory and Stairway to Hell matches. This may not be the context you're looking for, but I was shocked by the use of glass, the "obviously" broken bones, etc. A little over the top IMHO. I'm not a big fan of the Shane St Clair 50 foot Giga-Tron spear either, too "hardcore"" "The Idol's return was a good one, and also a good way to end the PPV" "THE IDOL IS BACK, BABY!!!" "The biggest shocker, for me, would have to be Arcola winning the title. Both handlers did a great job... but I honestly thought Rock had it in the bag." "The Idol's appearance is the obvious one, especially since it involved me." "Well, the Idol may be an old I/W star, but no one around really remembers him and probably doesn't much care. The biggest shocks I think were the entire War for Territory match and Shane St. Clair attempting the same thing he did at Wrestlefest 5 off the Giga-Tron, but getting up this time to win." "AVS/KJS winning the tag belts. I honestly thought an estabished team would win the thing, especially the Freedom Fighters (team of Saunders/Christopher)." [6] On a scale of 1-10, quickly rate each aspect of the card: Matchwriting: Highest -> 10, Lowest -> 7, Average -> 9 On card angles: Highest -> 9, Lowest -> 4, Average -> 6.8 Characters' work: Highest -> 9, Lowest -> 7, Average -> 7.8 Flow of card: Highest -> 10, Lowest -> 7, Average -> 8.5 ---> SECTION 2: In General <--- [7] What feud/angles have you enjoyed the most? Least? What storys would you like to see? "I'm enjoying my own feud with Thranton the most, though I don't know how many other people are too interested." "I enjoyed everything involving the Franchise Players. I did not think that the main event was special at all." "Sorry, but I gotta say it...Arcola/Rock. Least? Cote's disappearance and subsequent one-sided rivalry with Lumski What storys would you like to see? I'm dying to see the Lumski/Fleur interaction. Rob cracks me up with every single RP and adding some other psycho to the mix...oh, I can't wait :)" "I've enjoyed the Rock vs FP feud. Honestly didn't think the main event had enough heat, it kind of fizzled after the Rock/Arcola match. Liked the return of the Idol." "Rock/Arcola has been great, the Franchise Player break up was nice. Not much else to say" "My brain is just babbling here: Desert Scorpion and Thranton never really finished their feud IMO. I think a 3-way feud between Thranton, Scorpion, and Idol is in order. Then Scorpion turns heel and joins Travers :). Hopefully some of the big names that are tweeners now will have a more defined face/heel roll. I like this Tag Team of Saunders and Christopher. I would like to see Lumski and Fusion do a 180 face/heel change. " "I enjoyed my own immensely (Rock vs Arcola). I liked Carl introducing Fleur. I really liked the idea of a new Trifecta with Elijah Flynt gone. Desert Scorpion and Fusion just seemed slapped together for filler. The tag team match should've had a set format to make it easier to write (and possibly read), and the people in the main event didn't seem into it, so it wasn't that intriguing." "I'd like to see Rock and Arcola continue their feud, but also plant some seeds along the way for new ones to sprout up after Egos and Icons. I can't wait for St. Clair/Travers. Carl and his girlfriend Fleur should entertain us." "I've enjoyed all of my angles the most... with the exception of the week where Lumski was made the defacto heel in a program with RRJ. I've also enjoyed the Arcola/Rock feud. There isn't anything that I haven't enjoyed in the fed. I love handling here." [8] What do you like and dislike about the IWF/WOW? "The cards are, for the most part, very timely, I can always understand a day or so late. I don't really think the fed has any glaring problems right now. " "Like: Updates, websites, commentary on BC, IRC Chats, basically all the perks are really nice. Eclectic talent, prompt cards, attentive handlers, and an easygoing lovey-dovey prez...awwwww. Dislike: Sometimes senseless strats override my Rps. It'll take me a week to do a good solid RP and I'll end up losing because someone not involved in the a minute to say "he should lose by my guy's interference." It happened to RRJ 2 weeks in a row. Blood & Juicing should not happen all the time on every mayhem. It desensitizes so that when it really is a big thing" "I liked the way the tag division went from nil to good with one match. Can't really say I've seen that pulled off before. I've heard good thigns about IWF/WOW from Mark Stone and Ray Pourier (sp?) before. " "I like pretty much everything, but I wish there was more feud buildup." "I love how it's the most punctual fed I've ever been in. Everyone seems to enjoy what they do. Good characters and really well developed talent. There's not one pushover in the entire place, and if there is, he's where he belongs (dark matches). I'm not thrilled with all the older guys coming back, but it's alright. It just gives us newbies a chance to show them that the reason they were on top before was because we weren't around. ;)" "I love the concise organization of everything and the cooperation I can get with other handlers. WFT was so damn good and Brian was awesome to work with" [9] Who do you think are the top roleplayers in the IWF/WOW (besides yourself!) Well, quite a few guys got mentioned here... but I thought I'd only really mention the top four or five vote getters... the top guys, according to the handlers who voted, were Carl Lumski, Eric Travers, Justin Arcola, Billy rock and Razor Ron Jeremy. [10] How do you feel you have been treated recently? "Fairly... probably the most fair treatment I have received ANYWHERE in this game." "I think the I/W has been way more than fair with me. I love the place." "very well. Only disagreed with the HiaC finish this cycle, but I definitely understood it from an angle standpoint and thought I came off looking pretty viable anyway.
