Hi, Well, _finally_, I've got poll results from EGOS & ICONS... here they are! Thanks to those of you who took the time to reply to poll. [1] On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being awesome, 5 being average, and 1 horrible, rate EGOS & ICONS (both days!). Highest rating: 9 Lowest rating: 6 Average rating: 7.9 "Answer: Day One would get a 7 and Day Two would get a 9. Day Two only outscores the first day because a lot more seemed to go down then... as opposed to the first day." "First day - 9, second day - 8, average - 8.5" [2] What were the best and worst matches, both angle and writing wise? "BEST - McMannis vs. Idol ... Rock vs. Arcola ... Travers vs. St. Clair (both days) I also think the use of I/W staff (Co-Prez Jurkschat, VP Thompson) should be cut back. It'd be nice to see someone get their heat on their own instead of rubbing up against president's and vp's to get the spark." "definitely enjoyed the Rumble.....as good as I remember. Arcola/Rock was terrific, seemingly overshadowing the main event. Arcola is very deserving of a push, but in desperate need of a hot heel-face storyline in order to be a franchise main eventer (my opinion). The clean win in McManis/Idol was excellent...solidified McManis as a player. I think the tag match was weak, although I've heard a lot of good things about Adam Van Steele (?) and the other guy. I liked the angle with Travers getting a rematch on the next show.....it was very well done. " "Best match, writing: St. Clair vs. Travers, Day 1 Best match, angle: Billy Rock vs. Justin Arcola" "Best matches writing wise: Travers vs St Clair day 1, ID4 Best matches angle wise: Arcola/Rock RRJ/d'Artois" "Arcola/Rock was the best, hands down. Matt and Brian built that one up nicely. The pay-off did NOT disappoint. The Tag Team Title match was the worst because Sloan/Van Steele didn't do anything leading up to the match. That took away a lot of the heat the match could've had." "Best Writing: Travers v. St. Clair on Day 1. The ending was the best, where the announcers got knocked out and you had to follow the actions. It was a lot of fun to read. I thought that made it better than the other showstealing matches of past PPVs (Spades/St. Clair from WrestleFest; War for Territory from EotW). Anglewise I think it was the best match too because in the last two PPVs, the Eric Travers main event always had to follow some depressingly hardcore match where the wrestlers almost die. I always thought it took away from the main event, especially when it happened 2 PPVs in a row. But this match gave Travers a lot more credit than the other main events, and I'm glad it was the showstealer...at least in my head. Worst Angle: Prophet v. Thranton v. Scorpion. This would have been a good match if Thranton and Scorpion had roleplayed for it. No heat." "best - a tie between Arcola/Rock and Travers/St. Clair" "Best : Arcola vs Rock Worst: Desert Scorpion vs Thranton vs The Prophet (had no heat with it)" "St. Clair and Travers didn't build up very well for a PPV main event, though they did better than Travers/Prophet vs. Thranton. Billy Rock and Justin Arcola, on the other hand, did an amazing job building up. " [3] Where there any results you did not agree with? Which were they? "Nope, I agreed with all of the results... hell, I predicted them all correctly. :)" "It was all booked well might have had Lumpski as the only survivior." "I can't really argue with anything." "Arcola winning the rumble. I thought for sure it would be McMannis" "I agreed with all results. Only thing missing, was an explanation of the end of the Jurkschat/Malcolm match." "I thought 2 people from each team should have been eliminated in the Pain/Suffering/Grenchen v. Lumski/Gardyn/Rogan match. Just makes is more interesting." "I disagreed with part of my match. I would've liked to have seen Fleur get eliminated instead of Natalie Rose... because, logically, Natalie Rose should've lasted longer seeing that she was supposed to be played as an accomplished wrestler... and Fleur is a rookie in every sense of the word. But it's all cool. :)" [4] What was the biggest shocker, if any, of the event? "Jurkschat's Turn, Johnny Spades coming back for the night" "St. Clair and Travers fight again on Day 2." "d'Artois was the only one who _limped_ his way to the Rumble, yet still manages to go to the final 4 :). The rematch angle: Though I thought it cheapened the first day's main event significantly. Also Matthew Reason's absence in the Rumble was sort of shocking, but it was never explained." "St. Clair retaining despite Body Count's appearance" "Spades in Arcola's corner" "The events of St. Clair/Travers: Day 2 (Body Count, VP Thompson's actions, and St. Clair actually retaining the title)" "return of Spades for a one-nighter, return of Body Count, but who expected to see Travers/St.Clair for 2 nights?" [5] On a scale of 1-10, quickly rate each aspect of the card: Matchwriting: Highest - 10, Lowest - 7, Avg - 8.75 On card angles: Highest - 9, Lowest - 6, Avg - 7.35 Characters' work: Highest - 9, Lowest - 6, Avg - 7.50 Flow of card: Highest - 10, Lowest - 6, Avg - 7.80 [6] What feud/angles have you enjoyed the most? Least? What storys would you like to see? "I loved Rock/Arcola (probably because I was part of it and had so much fun doing it :)). Travers/St. Clair did something at the PPV that the build-up didn't; It clicked. I really enjoyed the matches and everything that went down in them. Lusmki/Fleur/NRR vs. Pain & Suffering had almost no build-up and zero interest, and I know Rob is capable of better than that. I'm looking forward to seeing Justin Arcola get involved with Shane St. Clair, and hopefully Eric Travers as well. I can't wait for Billy vs. Reason either. We're gonna have some fun with that one." "All things Arcola/Rock, especially the fact that it went in a new (and in fairness, experimental) direction by pushing the mind games and not just the over the top violence What storys would you like to see? 1) Trifecta breakup (sorry boys...your time has come :) ) 2) Rock/Reason - I'm salivating (not really...well, maybe a little, but it's 1AM) 3) Administrative power struggle (Not usually a fan of these, but McMannis adds a little extra uniqueness to this particular one)" "My favorite feud has been between Justin Arcola and Billy Rock. Matt and Brian really know how to tell a story. I haven't enjoyed St. Clair and Travers, however. I would like to see RRJ get a push, but WITHOUT the Subway guy with him... " "I appreciate Lumski trying to spice up the Tag division. Kudos to him. Hopefully other people will follow suit. I think it's time for the Trifecta to go it's separate ways. Since Pete went away it hasn't seemed that cohesive. I would like to see some more faces thrown in to the World Title scene, so that along the way to SE6 (Jesus, the 6th one already!) it's not so black & white as to who Arcola will be facing." "I really enjoyed following the Arcola/Rock feud." "Arcola vs Rock has been fun to watch, so has RRJ vs d'Artois (solely for RRJ's work)" [7] What do you like and dislike about the IWF/WOW? "The quality is top notch. I think we could be a little more selective with our writers though. I know not everyone is willing to do it, but we should try and stick with those who we can rely on." "Answer: I like everything about the fed. I like how angles are handled, how cards are presented, and how handler-friendly you are whenever one of us has an idea about something. There's nothing that I dislike about it." "Everybody loves to participate and it's so easy to get involved. If you dish out an open challenge in some feds, you're likely to get completely ignored, but the handlers in the I/W are so eager to strut their stuff that somebody is always watching your moves the moment you join a fed. It's not hard at all to find angles. What could be improved upon? Well, I was wondering what happened to the BattleCentre format. I'm assuming Moe got a little overloaded and doesn't have the time for commentary. I really liked the format. For a while you offered guest hosts for Trash Talk (I remember taking up the offer once :). Maybe see if people wanna do guest hosting again for the Saturday Trash Talk? Throw a poll up on the site or something :)." "Likes - organization, easygoing administration, friendly handlers who are easily accessible and don't put themselves above the fed. Dislikes - References to other feds in order to lay the foundation of an angle. Maybe I'm a purist and even a bit naive, but I've always thought the best angles are the ones that create their own history in the fed they take place in and, if there's pieces of the story that come from somewhere else, let it be the proverbial icing on the cake. To be specific, with all due respect to Phill and the boys, I'm not too keen on them bringing their rCw business into IWF/WOW cards (and in addition breaking kayfabe every other line with their ludicrous "reality TV" b-s). Maybe using an angle based on importation works occasionally, but not when your basis, your motivation for it all, revolves entirely around the name of the place where you're imported from. Also, checking out current rCw cards, I see them doing the same thing with regards to IWF/WOW references. (Calling Edward Dalton and Peter Grant "The Premeire IWF/WOW Tag Team" on a rCw card shows the same lapse in judgment - it just plain doesn't belong there.) Another dislike, one that doesn't rear its head too often but is noticable when it does: swearing by announcers. It should happen very sparingly, if at all, and only during high spots. The commentary during Malcom/Jurkschat - the swearing every other line - was not just inexcuseable, it was downright embarrassing. " "I like the match writing, the characters are excellent. I dislike the fact that the cards have been uncharacteristically late in the last few weeks because of one match being late." "I like the promptness, the courtiousness of the Prez, and the attitudes of the handlers. I don't like that a lot of angles aren't built up very well..." [8] Who do you think are the top roleplayers in the IWF/WOW (besides yourself!) The top vote getters... - Billy Rock - Justin Arcola - Razor Ron Jeremy (one handler wrote that RRJ gets his own category because his stuff is just so unique and out there) - Nate McMannis - Eric Travers Plus there were several others who got a vote or two... [9] Who, in your opinion, deserves a bigger push in the IWF/WOW? Who, in your opinion, deserves a smaller push in IWF/WOW? "BIGGER PUSH - No one really. Everyone who deserves to be at the top or near there deserves it" "PLEASE throw Maverick a bone. He's got so much potential, but he keeps losing by mere inches. In my opinion, he's the most underrated guy here)" "I think Billy Rock deserves a bigger push. Granted, he's the I-C Champion now... but I think he deserves much more." "I think D'Artois and RRJ both deserve a bigger push." [10] How do you feel you have been treated recently? "I cant complain to much :-)" "I couldn't ask for more than what I deserve, and I believe I've been i've been given that." "It's all good :). " "I have no problems with how I've been treated recently. I've been having a good time." [11] Since End of the World 5, has the IWF/WOW improved, stayed the same, or gone down hill? "Except for the late cards, improved." "This card was on par with EOTW, but the climate was very different, which could be good or bad, depending on your tastes. The mentality of the card was not total bloodlust and high-impact action, as EOTW was, but the improved depth and variety of the angles was definitely noticeable. I, for one, enjoyed the change of pace." "The quality is still the same, but the punctuality has left something to be desired. That's something we use to be able to always rely on. I/W being on time. Other than that, the place is still great." "I think the fed has gotten better with time. IWF/WOW was great around the time of EotW5 but it's gotten way better since then." "Pretty much stayed the same, but the partisipation has gone down hill due to summer." "It's improving; I know a lot of people wait until summer when they don't have regular classes to put a little more effort in (like me :)...But be careful after SE6...the I/W and feds in general get a little shaky cuz classes start and people don't have as much time." "Stayed the same, if ya ask me, and you did ask." [12] Any final comments? "Excellent PPV all around. " "Just keep on doing what you're doing. Everything is great."
